LaRussa views him as the leadoff in that 9 hole, with Pujols effective being the 4th hitter.

Bwhahaha, just bat Ryan 1st and Pujols 4th. Nothing like taking an at bat a game away from a guy with a .371 obp.

Well - yea, I know thats the point of swtiching the pitcher and your guy hitting 8th. But my point was that Ryan should be leading off or hitting 2nd instead of Miles or Kennedy or other crap I've seen them throw up there. Im sure they hit Ankiel 2nd so he sees a lot of fastballs, but that seems really short sighted as well. Meh.

that was pretty much my point though. rookie or not, stupid TLR is stealing an AB a game most likely from a .371 obp bat. This is with hacks like Miles, Molina, Ludwick in the lineup. So you hit him 9th, right, that makes sense.
