So, we are all stupid for not wanting to replace bad baseball players with worse ones?

Did I say that?

no, the other guy did.

Reading through this thread, it's as if people don't realize that the Cubs could have put a claim in to block another team (Milwaukee?) from getting him? You guys DO realize that that's a possibility, right?

I was thinking that Hendry may be doing that with any dcent player to go on waivers if they make it down to the Cubs. Not a bad strategy as long as we're behind them, however it could burn brisges with these teams for future buisness if they're actually hoping for legit offers.

What the hell are these FSRM announcers talking about. They just made it sound like Pods to the Cubs is a done deal??? Edited by tadowdaddy

Only way Pods gets on this team is everyone on NSBB is allowed 20 minutes alone with his wife.

Just looking at her, I doubt we'd need that much time.

8-)

Tru that.

The dirty golf jokes are just screaming to get out, but alas... I'll just grip it and rip it.

They have an article in the Trib about Ozzie being surprised about Podsednik getting claimed, doesn't sound like Guillen would miss him too much though.

Murton finally starts hitting and Hendry is looking for a LF'er to replace Soriano? Thankfully, alot of these rumors turn out to be false.

that's because Ozzie hates him. As well he should. He's complete crap.

Baseball tonight guys made it sound like the Pods deal is dun and the cubs got him. Anybody know whats goin on there?

I can only hope that once again the BBTN guy are misinformed. They said that Marshall was traded for Kendall for almost an hour, so they aren't trustworthy to say the least.

If there is any truth to these rumors i could only hope that lou would play who should be playing and that the cubs give up little to get him. If he takes Pagan's role on this team then OK, but anything other that a 4th or 5th OF for this team is despicable. That said, just don't trade for Pods, he brings very little to the table.

Really? Because that'd be a great way to mess up what's right with this team right now.

The latest from the Trib is saying the Sox want a quality prospect in return for Podsednik. Please, no.

Also quotes Hendry saying he's claimed "probably a dozen guys" this week, and was awarded some of them, but others were pulled back.

I wouldn't give a mediocre prospect for Pods, so hopefully Hendry passes if the Sox want anything that's worth a crap.

I'm not even lying when I say I wouldn't give the now DFA'd Dopirak for him. He's completely useless. I don't even know why Hendry would have bothered with the claim.

As someone else said, the fact that Murton (and Jones) is hitting exceptionally right now makes this move even more indefensible, if in the works. Murton has a higher OPS for the year than Sori does (sample size, of course) and has played more than adequately in left the past week.

Again, Hendry has claimed and been awarded several players. The media is just playing this one up b/c of the Sox angle and the fact that Ozzie gave Pods the business earlier this year.

Where are you getting that from?

Soriano- .297/.336/.511/.847

Murton- .275/.345/.419/.755

Even with an 80 point jump in four games he's nearly 100 points back.

Latest rumor on the radio waves is that the Sox want Geovany Soto. Piersynski is only under contract through 2008 and the Sox think Soto would be a perfect fit as a starter in 2009. With Soto having a great year at AAA Iowa, he is almost too much to give up isn't he?
