Hopefully, it's just a cramp for Sori but even if he's hurt, it's not a devasting loss IMO.

I know why you are saying that, but I believe it's dead wrong. I believe we would have needed Sori to go on a prolonged hot streak to get to the playoffs anyway. If he's out, that has no chance of happening.

Murton's not going to get more play time, if that's what you are thinking. Lou hates Murton, it's pretty clear.

The current run has been accomplished with Soriano putting up some very mediocre numbers. Losing Sori would hurt but it doesn't mean the season's over.

The current 'run' has actually been over for awhile now. We're 5-5 in our last 10 games. Soriano was extremely hot when we were actually hot as well, though not for the entire time, it takes multiple players getting hot to put together a prolonged streak like we had.

Murton won't play more. Look for Pagan to get the play time. This lineup is now severely underpowered. If that works out, then fine. I still think it's a huge loss.

Cubs are 5 over .500 for the last 30 days while Soriano has gone .268/.286/.435. He's a loss, but not too great of one if Pie and or Murton get the PAs instead of Pagan or Jones.

Ryan Howard had the same thing and was put on the 15 day DL earlier this year.

we really can't say it was the "same thing" yet though. a strain? if that's even true, it's very vague. We'll see.

Wait for the Cubs to tell us how long he'll be out, add a couple days, and we'll move on.

I'm reminded of Priorgate. A strain is a tear. However, it can be anything from a very minor tear to a much more serious injury.

Morgan and Miller are even worse than usual tonight

Carlos Lee is a Brewer, Luis Castillo has been in the american league his whole career.

WTG fellas

was I dreaming in 2003?

Yep; Beckett was w/ the Redsox & DLee was w/ the Cubs then too...

How many times is Joe Morgan gonna tell me that Luis Castillo has been a long time American League player?

First the Twins traded long time Twin Castillo, now he's never played in Wrigley.

2003?

Joe, Luis hit the bartman ball.

He was saying this at the beginning of the broadcast as well.

Morgan said, "Castillo is used to being in pennant races being with the Twins his whole carer."

Let's also not judge the severity of the injury based on Soriano's awful looking reaction.

Having anything like that happen in mid-stride will freak you out something awful.

Jon Miller said "Carlos Lee coming up" before the break

Then he says the Brewers signed Carlos Lee in the off season.

FTH?

I did hear that. Wasn't sure if I had or not.

Nah, it's not over. The Cubs still have the best record in NL since June 3 (36-20 the Yanks are first in MLB at 37-20. The next closest NL team is the Rockies at 30-26).

Well the Red Sox have the best record since April 1st

When I think current hot streak I think recent games, that's why I looked at our last 10.

I'm expecting this injury to carry over into '08......maybe even for the life of his contract.

Wouldn't shock me as a Cubs fan. :-)

Our trainers need to figure out how to properly hydrate and stretch our players out.

That, and our hitters need to start hitting those 86 mph pitches.

As a Cub fan I'm expecting they will amputate it tomorrow.

But Joe Morgan himself said right after the injury that he knew "for a fact" that Sori stretched out very well before the game.. It must be true then, right?
