I'm not going to jump to conclusions just yet. From the looks of it, it could be a hamstring or a knee, or it could be as simple as a cramp.

Being a Cubs fan, I'm not optimistic.

He probably could have put more pressure on it if it were a hamstring. It looks like something seized up i.e. a cramp.

I hope.

That's what I thought too. Hamstrings usually cause guys to limp, but not hop on one foot.

Knees, however :(

Hopefully, it's just a cramp for Sori but even if he's hurt, it's not a devasting loss IMO.

I know why you are saying that, but I believe it's dead wrong. I believe we would have needed Sori to go on a prolonged hot streak to get to the playoffs anyway. If he's out, that has no chance of happening.

Murton's not going to get more play time, if that's what you are thinking. Lou hates Murton, it's pretty clear.

Yep because we have enough power to back it up

He hasn't been hitting for power lately. If they can replace him with someone who can get on base at a higher level it will be fine.

right quad strain...

Because all those homers he was hitting was really helping? He's been cold for a couple weeks now outside of a couple games. He really has not been doing as well as people think.

I was sure CC Sabathia was out for the year when he took that ball off his hand the first game of the season and he didn't end up missing any time at all. Generally safest to just wait for something more concrete (though I guess I might bench him in my weekly lineup fantasy team).

Initially being called a right quad strain according to Pat.

No doubt a serious one, judging by the reaction. That's got to be a preventable injury. Our training staff is terrible, has been forever.

At this point, just win the damn game and worry about Soriano later.

Yep, lost in all of this is that it looked like it would be 1st & 3rd w/ 2 outs & DLee up...

Playing Murton, if Soriano out, isn't going to do much to replace him. This team needs some power, Murton isn't really going to provide that.

The current run has been accomplished with Soriano putting up some very mediocre numbers. Losing Sori would hurt but it doesn't mean the season's over.

Assumption, speculation, exaggeration, exaggeration, hyperbole.

Let's just wait and see, about this Soriano thing.

Ron sounds very pessimistic. but he's also right that "that could mean anything"

I like Ron, but I wouldn't put much stock into his medical opinions.

Yeah it sucks but the Cubs have been making decent enough contact off Glavine that I'm hopeful we can score some runs.

Geezus walks the pitcher. Good job Jason you toolbag.
