  1. Appel or Manaea is gonna be nice to have. If Dempster and Garza dont get hurt... Delgado, Olt, and 2 stud arms in rangers system would be cubs. But Garza was hurt day deal was done and deal was taken off. Dempster obviously put a stop to delgado. I still think Cubs end up with Olt, Gyorko, or Castellanos when its all said and done (Garza trade) With the way the pitching market is going. Get guys at good value is gonna come back and be great for production or trade value. i think theo and hoyer start using the trade market alot this year.
  2. Garza will get somewhere in between sanchez and greinke.. But he also cost the cubs prospects to receive him. My guess is the deal that was done the day he was hurt will be rekindled in some form and bring Mike Olt here to be our 3rd baseman of the future. Trade Candidates: Garza, Dejesus, Soriano, Marmol, Fujikawa, Feldman, Baker, Barney, Clevenger, and any of our bullpen arms. keep in mind Paul Maholm brought back Arodys Vizcaino. A healthy Garza, Feldman, Baker could bring a small fortune back if they pitch well. If Theo had gotten Sanchez without giving up prospects, then he would have had zero drop off while gaining tons of assets in the process by trading off movable parts in the process. Theo plan: Gain assets (ammo) to move for core players. So he can make Rizzo type moves more often. possible 2014 Free Agents targets : Ellsbury, Cano, Lincecum, Johnson, Granderson... not a bad group to find a core player from
  3. I have a meeting set up for December 8th. Were Bleachers readily available for choosing? i was hoping for combo bleacher package..
  4. my guess is the cubs are gonna pay him extra money so he doesn't ask for arbitration years to be cut out. Cubs will have control for a good while. Goldstein ranks him #1 because of a high ceiling. Starting to look up around here..
  5. Doubtful tigers deal Turner and Castellanos just because they lost Victor Martinez. But if they do and would be interested in a package centered around garza/byrd. Cubs need to put whatever prospects not named rizzo, jackson in it with them to make it work. Rizzo, Jackson, Turner, Castellanos would be a nice core to build around.
  6. Byrd, Garza, Soto, Marmol, Marshall will make our system look alot better after moving them. if zambrano starts hot. he could net us a nice piece at the deadline. Same with Dempster if he agrees to leave when all his buddies are traded off.
  7. Buy Low. Rangers obviously wanted him back. He comes back with a good start. He leaves at deadline returning a prospect. Gonna be alot of these kinda moves next 2 years. Gotta build farm system anyway you can. Ian Stewart same thing. Costed very little and if he has a good season, he will bring a prospect back. hopefully everyone with a no trade on the team is willing to leave. Build farm system for 2 years and spend on year 3 with what you have built . In 3 years, Junior Lake.. Gioskar Amaya.. Brett Jackson.. could be mainstays with Castro. We will be good. Gonna take time. Mark Prior and Zambrano showing up probably were worst thing for this organization. Gave us "hope" for 5 years when we shoulda been selling and not buying.
  8. i remember watching an interview with Ryan Braun during the all star break. He said all the brewers and cubs players had a good time during the break and that they got along great. Obviously the cubs would have to blow the doors off the brewers for a trade cuz they dont wanna make a better team even better.
  9. well his value is at an all-time high after throwing for 2nd most innings in his career. We got him for our AAAA junk. Last time he threw this many innings he went 128, 46, and 25 the next 3 years. Just think we may be in for a similar path. If we can get hermida and roberts without trading a vital piece then im all for it. but i thought this would be a way for us not to destroy what little farm system we do have and get real balanced on offense.
  10. harden for roberts ceda/cedeno(replacement if they trade uggla to san fran)/veal or something similar for hermida re-sign dempster take 2 draft picks for woody sign jon garland (if rich hill can't turn it around in winter league) try to move marquis. roberts lee hermida aram soriano dero soto pie/fukudome/reed only salary added is dempster's and free agent starters
  11. left the field on a stretcher after bruntlett ran him over. never wanna see a person get hurt. send a prayer out to the Molina's.
  12. i seriously think they would want aram or kosuke. along with a combo of gallagher, marshall, pie, vitters, etc ... more than any team should or would give up, basically.
  13. marquis is probably the most predictable pitcher ever... he just lives on the outside corner.
  14. that'd be a great deal for the cubs. get rid of a guy who doesn't help us in marquis. We take in a guy who knows how to get on base. 300 avg 353 obp last year. 345 career obp. This trade would be a good indication jacque jones is on his way out, meaning we'll get rid of his inconsistent self. I think this trade would be a good step in the right direction of getting useless junk off the team.
  15. lou shoulda used the "experience" factor himself. He had pre-determined Zambrano goin 3 days rest. But you have to let him go if he's dominating like he was. He wasn't laboring at all, and was makin the best contact on the team. His movement was awesome tonight. if we take game 1 the dbacks would have been demoralized. I know marmol has been really good this year but the dbacks seemed pumped to see anyone but Zambrano in there. Gotta let him go and worry about the "if necessary" game IF it gets here later.
