i am going to enjoy watching fielder wabble in the upcoming years

fat bastard!

Prince is great, but it looks like something is trying to escape from his shirt when he is running. I think he's going to have to find a way to lose some of that flubber unless he wants a short career.

Just for fun, I've decided to make a team that wouldn't be FA eligible at the end of this season, even though we aren't paying attention to the contracts.

Joe Mauer

Hanley Ramirez

Miguel Cabrera

Jake Peavy

Felix Hernandez (real surprised at the lack of love for him)

I did that too (I think).

And came up with five different players. My team's better. :P

Albert Pujols

Grady Sizemore

Jose Reyes

Rich Hill

Cole Hamels

I'm late to this, but I'll play, having not looked at any of the other lists besides those that appeared on this last page:

1. Jose Reyes

2. Johan Santana

3. Jake Peavy

4. Alex Rodriguez

5. Albert Pujols

Almost: Justin Verlander, Justin Morneau.

Assuming we're talking about starting a franchise...

Johan Santana

Jake Peavy

Miguel Cabrera (I don't care if he's seemingly putting on a pound a day)

Albert Pujols

Hanley Ramirez (debated for a few minutes on this one but took him over Sizemore and Wright)

if we're playing all time, I go:

Ruth

Teddy Ballgame

Mays

Wagner

Walter Johnson

All-time

Ted Williams (best hitter of all time IMO and his counting stats would be better if he didn't miss 3 prime years ages 24-26 because he fought in the war)

Babe Ruth (right up there with Williams)

Lou Gehrig (rate stats are as good as any and his counting stats would have been better if not for the disease)

Pedro Martinez (was absolutely dominant during the steroids era especially 1997-2003)

Greg Maddux (dominant for a number of years)

I realize (after I chose the three) that I picked the top 3 guys in OPS and three of the top four in OPS+ all time for the hitters but that was unintentional.

I would take the top five starting pitchers in the game... off the top of my head:

Johan Santana

Roy Oswalt

Zambrano

Halliday

Sabathia or Verlander

in 2-3 years youd be sinking 90 mil+ per year into your starting rotation.

Well worth it.

Surely this is a joke.

No it's not a joke.

If you could pick any 5 players in the game, one of them would be Theriot? Holy crap. With that sort of raging man love, I'd think your name would be "theriot1" or "ryan4ever"
