Z's stats since he said he was starting over:

2-0, 1.27 ERA, 0.85 WHIP, 10.8 K/9, 17/4 K/BB

I'm pretty sure I calculated the K/9 correctly, but I might've goofed.

It would be nice if he can keep that up.

I'm thinking that we should go ahead and resign Z to that multi-year contract, then resign Barrett also for the same number of years.

My idea is that every year before opening day, Z will beat up on Barrett and then the two will make up, thus ensuring that Z will pitch good from the beginning. Anytime Z goes into a slump, the Cubs schedule another clubhouse beating. This way we get maximum productivity out of both Z and Barrett.

Z has an OPS of .862 on the season.

Z must have cut open Barrett's brain and sucked out what remained of Michael's hitting prowess.

According to Rotoworld, his OPS is higher than Carlos Lee's.

His bat has come on just as strong as his arm the last week or so.

I don't want to believe Z is back for good because that would fly in the face of almost every Cubs development in recent years. I'll just keep hoping he pitches well for now.

A show on NBC where people have superpowers, and the villian slices open peoples skulls (the people with superpowers anyway) and presumably takes their brain...absorbing their powers in the process. It really sounds exactly like what you were talking about. :)
