Sorry if this is a dumb question, but he only threw 10 pitches, so does Lou let him start again tomorrow or just give him his normal rest? He's struggled lately but I'd like to see him out there again, if anything he'll be pumped to go after the BS he went through tonight.

I guess that would make sense, since the bullpen has been so taxed the last few days. He should get some type of work, don't want him to come back rusty for his next start.

Its a thought but is Z ready to be pushed back a day?

I am guessing but Z probably flew back to Chicago sometime today and is expecting to start. You could throw Lilly on his 3rd day but then you are looking at another lefty after Hill. Lilly and Hill pitch too much alike for me to be comfortable going back to back with them.

I would be wiling to use Lilly in long relief tomorrow or Tuesday for three innings or so, but I would watch his pitch count and stress closely.

LOL, nothing like a wild-eyed, crazy Michael Bien to start off your day after another night of Cub horror.

Thanks bro

Lilly and Marquis should be available out of the pen tonight. Gallagher maybe not until Tuesday. Wuertz, Ohman and Eyre should be available as well.

If they were 23 year olds I'd say no way, but when you are talking about 30 year olds with long track records, good health and not a lot of upside from here, I'd have no problem throwing them back out there right away.

I'd have Z start the game and then Lilly finish the last 2-4 innings. Whole pen gets the day off.

I'd have Z go 8 innings and let Dempster finish. :D

No way, not after the way he blew the save yesterday. If this happens, Cubs lose. Book it.

If Lilly pitched today or pitches again, he'd have 3 or fewer days of rest before his next start.

Lou should start Ted on short rest for Thursday against Seattle.

I realize that means we have the 3 lefties in a line, but the Mariners really dont have any righty threats except Guillen with Beltre out of the lineup as long as you dont play with Sexson and try to blow his doors off.

SD is who we play this weekend and they are a predominantly right handed team with only Gonzalez batting lefty in their lineup. So Lou should skip Marquis a day and put Ted up against the Ms on Thurs imo.

Off day on Monday so we could reset next week.
