Just glad we didn't take another pitcher...we have plenty of young arms and need to have a solid position player prospect every decade or so.

 

Funny how guys aren't even happy when we land the top HS hitter in the draft...

 

Cubs fans are never happy. The Cubs could win the World Series and there would still be complaining going on here.

QFT. I'm pretty sure there wouldn't be much complaining going on if the Cubs just won the World Series.

 

OK. So I exaggerated. I still made my point though.

 

And what was that point, that Cubs fans insatiable appetite for greatness means they will never be satisfied and always complaining? You are describing Yankees fans. Cubs fans complain with justification.

 

And most Cubs fans believe they know more than the scouting director without even having seen the kids play in person.

Wieters goes to Baltimore. I dont like the Vitters pick but hopefully he turns out better than our last few highschool possition picks.

BTW, there arent many highschoolers who have great television presence. He came across like most high school jocks. I just hope he's not another Montenez or Harvey. People thought those guys were pretty good at the time to. High school possition picks are a real shot in the dark.

Can't we take it a little easier on a HS kid who just got interviewed on national TV? I'm sure everyone on this board would have done much better when they were 17. Jeez

Same here. Looking at the long term major leagues, Barrett is deteriorating and Aramis Ramirez is a keeper at 3B. Is there a possibility Vitters came can change positions, at all? SS? OF?

 

Should've gotten Wieters.
