Hey everyone just wanted to let everybody know that "Sean has just gotten called-up to the Cubbies". Its been a very hectic afternoon since we just got off the phone with Sean. He is so excited and will meet the team in Mil, our family will be heading to Atlanta for this week-ends series.

Yeah, it's definitely Gallagher and I know peoriachiefs39 is friends with Sean, but I am still really surprised. I wonder what's going to happen. Trade maybe or who's sent down? Guess we'll have to wait and see tonight.

Take a peek in the minors forum. I'm not sure how peoria is related to Sean, but he/she is supposedly reporting the Cubs are about to bring up Gallagher.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! im so happy because ive been following him all-year and his numbers look GREAT. i remember reading that a scout compared him to a greg maddux with a harder fastball. i sure hope he is in the starting rotation.

The poster is Gallagher's father I believe... he's been kind enough to give us plenty of information on Sean and his thoughts after several of his starts. We've also been tipped off to previous promotions before they were official, and they've all come through. So I tend to believe this piece of information, though it is very surprising.

Is Wood already on the 60 day DL? Maybe Ward's injury is worse than they thought? Prior was already moved to it to make room for K. Hill, I'm out of ideas.

Taking a quick look at the options:

 

I doubt it's Hill or Lilly

 

Z could be DL'd or traded

Marquis could be DL'd-haven't heard anything on him, but he wasn't particularly sharp last night, so who knows

Marshall could be sent down-but this seems unlikely with the way he's pitched.

 

Bullpen (the more likely option for Gallagher)

 

Dempster, Wuertz, and Howry are safe

 

Ohman-possibly sent down

Guzman-not likely to be sent down

Eyre-possible release

Marmol-if somebody is sent to the minors, Marmol is the most likely candidate.

 

If I had to rank them in terms of likelihood:

 

1. Eyre release

2. Z DL'd

3. Marquis DL'd

4. Marmol sent down

5. some sort of trade
