Uh, I'd like to be one of the first to say that the last three years was not just Baker's fault.

You think you're the first?

I said one of the first. You want to brawl?

Scoreboard you sunofa...........

If you've ever been the Cubs locker room, Z's locker is the first one on the left, with an empty one next to it. I have a feeling he's isolated for a reason.

The guy needs to mature. Quickly. Now that he sucks, his childish banter looks even more ridiculous than it did when he was good.

I don't understand why many on here thought it would be okay to fire Baker and keep Hendry another year.

I don't understand how you can think very many people on here wanted Hendry around for this season. A lot of people wanted both gone, not just Baker.

You must not have been around a lot last year. Trust me, there were many on here who said they'd give Hendry another year and then fire him.

Zambrano looked like complete garbage today. Anyone else notice how he was grimacing in pain after he made his last pitch? He is not extending out like he is normally doing either.

who initiated it?

Carlos

Carlos started the jabbing. Barrett's apparant defense for his stupidity was to tell Zambrano he was getting rocked. Things elevated and it looked to me both guys were looking for physical contact when it started. but it was basically reaching and grabbing.

Z started the entire thing. He walked up to Barrett and got in his face with some nasty comments. Barrett probably said something sarcastic then Z pushed him in the head...

Yeah, I saw that too.

Eyre in to pitch, Hill in to catch for the CUBS

so does this mean that Z and Barrett are both in the locker room together....

And to think some of us wanted a rebuilding year that included trading both these guys in the offseason.

And Joe Girardi would have been the perfect skipper for that process. Too bad he wasn't available. Oh, wait.

You can only truly rebuild if you have "toolsy" players.

i can't wait for some meatball to seriously make the argument that the fight actually helps the team and it shows heart and grit.

Piniella left the dugout after the inning. If that means anything.

He had to make sure the morons didn't start fighting again in the clubhouse since they've both been benched.

Yeah, if you ever wanted to see the inside of a plasma TV, I'm sure you could do that right now in the clubhouse. Z wasn't done, I'm sure, taking it out on someone or something.

Just saw it in full again.

Z's initial words to Barrett were actually somewhat calm, although the pointing to the head was insulting, to say the least. You can't see Barrett's mouth, but knowing how much he argued with Lou after getting picked off, I'm guessing he was just as bitchy in response. Just before the actual physical contact, Zambrano was backing away. Barrett must have set him off with whatever he said just before they clashed.

Both definitely deserve blame.

I don't think there's any way someone can say anything other than it shows extreme stupidity and immaturity from both men, particularly Zambrano, and supreme blowage from the entire team.
