This team is falling apart. It might be time to dump both Barrett & Zambrano before they walk away and we get nothing in return.

Like I just told a friend of mine, Barrett and Z both blow. Might as well dump them both off at the deadline to contenders.

co-sign, QFT, +1

Hit the DL, Z. You are injured and you know it.

Can't be, he's a horse. It's all mental.

I put him on the DL tomorrow. Put Guzman back in rotation. Let the new guy catch for the rest of the series. Call-up Pie for center and bench Jones.

Awesome fight in the dugout. Awesome.

I think it depends if you still want to trade him. If you still want something for him, there's no sense in putting him on the DL, injured or not. If you want to try and sign him cheaply, then I agree an MRI + DL stint is in order

who initiated it?

Carlos

Carlos started the jabbing. Barrett's apparant defense for his stupidity was to tell Zambrano he was getting rocked. Things elevated and it looked to me both guys were looking for physical contact when it started. but it was basically reaching and grabbing.

If you've ever been the Cubs locker room, Z's locker is the first one on the left, with an empty one next to it. I have a feeling he's isolated for a reason.

Uh, I'd like to be one of the first to say that the last three years was not just Baker's fault.

You think you're the first?

I said one of the first. You want to brawl?

Ah, nothing like Zambrano blaming someone else for him sucking it up once again.

In Z's defense, Barrett is a freaking comedy of mistakes right now.

And Zambrano isn't? Both these dude's suck. Zambrano shouldn't be throwing stones right now. Though if he did, none of them would probably hit anyone anyway.

Ok. That made me laugh.

anyone listening on the radio? wondering what those guys are saying about it

They're kind of dancing around it a bit. This is Hughes' inning off, so we'll see if he says anything when he's back in the booth.

And to think some of us wanted a rebuilding year that included trading both these guys in the offseason.

And Joe Girardi would have been the perfect skipper for that process. Too bad he wasn't available. Oh, wait.

so when your players start fighting each other, does that constitute rock bottom?

Pretty much. But we're only tied for 2nd in the division. There's still far to go from here.
