I will take the Astros.

Right now they are an absolute mess. They have 2 starters that have no business being major leaguers. Jason Jennings is back to take over for one of them and may do well in that capacity. They still need to see if they can get 1 pitcher from somewhere else though.

Their bullpen has been iffy, but better of late. The problem with it is long relief and a 2nd setup person.

Ensberg and Everett have been nothing short of a disaster on the left side of the IF. Neither one could hit there way out of a paper sack atm. Their #3 OF spot has also been very weak with Lane and Scott not performing to expectations. So Garner is going to start Loretta at 1b more and put Berkman back in the OF.

Their OBP has been awful this year as well as most of their other numbers. In that kind of ballpark, you figure they have to come out of it sometime soon, and they are only 6.5 gb through it all. Also a notorious post June 1st team.

Thank you, and have a nice day.

With all due respect, the Astros are a far longer shot than the Cubs. And I voted Brewers.

shouldn't there be a "none of the above" choice?

And also...is it really "winning" the division if you fall arse backwards in by default?

No, since one of the teams listed has to win by default. If the question was who DESERVES to win then "none of the above" would be a legitimate option.

There should be an option for other. I think they'll award the division to the Red Sox and give them an elimination round in the playoffs.

Just a hunch.

I want to know who the two people that picked the Pirates are? Maybe they thought this was a poll for who would be last in the division.

EDIT: Oh I should pay attention. It's Derwood and RonnieWooWoo. Seriously guys the PIRATES?

The NL Central isn't that bad. They have the 2nd most wins as a division in all of baseball.

Hush you, the fact that the division has an extra team makes no difference. Counting wins to evaluate a division is every bit as valid as using RBI totals to evaluate players and win totals to determine Cy Young winners.

They also have more teams than any other division, so they SHOULD have the most wins. The fact that they have the most teams, but only the second most wins, says that they ARE bad.

Actually, this was sarcasm. I know the NLC has an extra team. If you took the top 4 teams out of every division to make them all have the same number of teams, the NLC has the fewest wins, and it's not close.

5 of the 10 worst records in baseball come from the NL Central.

Versus the NL East the NL Central is 27-36 (.429)

Versus the NL West the NL Central is 24-50! (.324)

Versus the AL, the NL Central is 5-10 (.333)

So the NL Central versus non-NL Central teams is 56-96 (.368). If that's not bad, I don't know what is.
