I suppose the Cubs could win a one run game, in extra innings, on the road...but I'm not holding my breath waiting for it.

It's bound to happen eventually. Why not today?

Our offense has already taken the rest of the day off after the offensive explosion in the 8th. Plus, I'm watching and they lose every time I watch.

Random question: anyone know on Gameday what pFX is for? Haven't seen that particular stat before.

guzman looks really good, at least right now.

Yep. Glad he's not starting.

In the past week, I've watched the game threads. The couple times Guzman has done well, people complained that he was doing well in the bullpen and therefore he should be starting. When he did poorly Friday night, people complained that he did poorly therefore he should be starting. I guess it's a no win :D

Also, have we had any extra innings road games this year? The only extra innings games I recall were at home.

as much as i hate this team right now, i think the cubs will score this inning.

Only because you want us to so very badly.

Aren't we 0fer in extra inning games this year? This is not a comforting situation.

1 win-the game against Washington at home.

Yup. Game 3 sweep. I was there, and I won tickets to it.

That was the Ward hit over the leftfielder, right?

Yup-that was the ballgame all right.

Yeah, but he should still be starting.

Yup. As mentioned earlier, it was against the almighty Washington Nationals.

what do you guys make of Piniella cussing on Barrett? first, Eyre has say over what pitch was throw. second, Ethier looked pretty silly on the first two breaking balls, so a third one isn't a bad pitch there.

Bob wasn't accurate. Barrett was set up on the outside corner. it's up to Eyre to put it in a good spot.

seems like Barrett is a bit of a scapegoat for Lou's bad move.
