I hate Hendry

I hate the entire sucky bullpen

I hate Barrett

I hate Jones

I hate Piniella

I hate Rothschild

I hate Wrigley Field

I hate Izturis

I hate Soriano

But most of all I just plain hate this entire loser organization, filled with a bunch of untrained rheesus monkeys, who when they're not throwing their feces at one another, are finding new and painful ways to lose games.

I'm done with these effing losers.

Me too. See you tomorrow.

Not even Shakespeare could have written the tragedy that is the Chicago Cubs.

He wasn't alive long enough to compose such a masterpiece of futility.

You get my point. A Chicago Cubs season has all of the elements of a tragedy, especially unavoidable fate.

Barrett has just been bad this year. He could not get a bunt down in the 8th with a runner on 2b with no outs, he made his routine mental mistake behind the plate today in the 11th, and he did nothing at the plate today.

Barrett is bordering on being completely useless at this point. I think his offenseive numbers are decent at home, but he's Neifi-esque on the road...combine that with his typical bad to worse dfense and he's making Blanco look like a MUCH better option at this point.

he chokes pretty regularly defensively late in the game, but he'd have to play with no mitt to make blanco look like a better option period, let alone a MUCH better option.

and, as i'm sure others have said...it's ridiculous to ask him to bunt right there.

It's not just the bunt...he can't do anything at the plate if they're not at home. How long is this "slump" going to keep going? What good is Barrett really for this team if he can't hit anything like he did before?

According to Cubs.com, Byung-Hyun Kim will make his first start of the season tomorrow against Sean Marshall at NSBB day. Kim has a 10.50 ERA in 6 innings so far this year. I am going to jump off the scoreboard if we lose.

Oh yeah, and we're 5 GB and in 2nd place when we've won one series in 3 weeks. Mind-boggling.

Is it ok if I start the game thread for tomorrow in a few minutes if WindyCity isn't here?

Do ya feel lucky ??

2-1 overall. I need to spread some good vibes to the Cubs.

There were plenty of bad things for us... Barrett's throw to second, Lou bringing in Eyre. wild pitch/hit batter, etc. Bad teams do bad things.

So because the bullpen sucks, Lou must walk on eggshells and bring in the exact perfect person or he's an idiot? The perfect person of course being Howry or Ohman, every single time. Never mind that a strategy like that will send those 2 to the DL by July.

This makes no sense. Eyre sucks, he's on the team. Either get him off the team, or Lou will have to use him. Period, end of story.

Well, he doesn't have to use him. Lou chose to bring him in in the eight today but he didn't have to.

Maybe it's Lou's way of letting Hendry know he need to get rid of Eyre. He can't have a guy taking a roster spot, particularly in the pen and not use him. Just can't, it will hurt as much as sending the guy out there over time.

If Lous way of letting Hendry know to get rid of Eyre is to put his team in a bad situation, then he should be fired now. They have things like email, text messages, phones, and even these things called cell phones that can be used to convey to Hendry he wants Eyre off the team.

Given, I doubt that he is trying to send a message by putting him in in that situation. However, Eyre riding the pine for a week I think was message enough. Ultimately what is he going to do? He has to bring in a lefty.

Why? Wuertz is capable of getting lefties out, and was rolling. And even if he "had' to bring in a lefty, why not Ohman? Why bring in somebody who has sucked all year, and continually hurt his team? There is no logical reasoning in bringing Eyre into this game.

Again, they've told you this. You can't keep running the same guys out there every day or our bullpen is really going to take a hit when everyone of the relievers starts to break down.

I think you have no idea how to run a bullpen. You guys think you can throw all of our best relievers 4-5 days in a row, and it's not possible/not logical at all.

You're going to destroy your bullpen.

Wuertz was already in the game and had only thrown 12 damn pitches. If we keep blowing games like this our bullpen being tired in July or August isnt going to mean jack. You worry about July or Aug when you get there, if your bullpen is tired then you see what moves you can make. But by continualy putting shitty guys into the game that have no business in a game will make July and Aug moot real quick. But hey you go ahead and keep worrying about August, when we are 10-15 back cause Lou cant use his bullpen correctly. Lou and the Cubs are lucky this division sucks, or else we would already be 10-15 out because of Lous inability to properly run a bullpen.
