I like how our ace was removed in a 1-0 game with 66 pitches thrown. That's brilliant.

Had to be done on a 0-0 game that late. The way this team has been hitting you need that run. Not to mention Ward almost had a single, what would everyone have been saying then?

That Lous bad decision got lucky. Son shines on a dogs butt every once in awhile basically and the move did not have to be made. You leave your pitcher in that gives you the best chance and not giving up runs, and in case you havent noticed thats not out bullpen.

There were plenty of bad things for us... Barrett's throw to second, Lou bringing in Eyre. wild pitch/hit batter, etc. Bad teams do bad things.

So because the bullpen sucks, Lou must walk on eggshells and bring in the exact perfect person or he's an idiot? The perfect person of course being Howry or Ohman, every single time. Never mind that a strategy like that will send those 2 to the DL by July.

This makes no sense. Eyre sucks, he's on the team. Either get him off the team, or Lou will have to use him. Period, end of story.

Well, he doesn't have to use him. Lou chose to bring him in in the eight today but he didn't have to.

Maybe it's Lou's way of letting Hendry know he need to get rid of Eyre. He can't have a guy taking a roster spot, particularly in the pen and not use him. Just can't, it will hurt as much as sending the guy out there over time.

There is no reason at all to bring Eyre in with the game so close. Just leave Wuertz in he can get lefties out to just in case you or Lou hasnt noticed.

I wouldn't have put Eyre in there either, but Ohman has been better pitching to right-handers than Wuertz has been pitching to left-handers the past three years. Why is it so bad for Ohman to pitch to an occasional right-hander, but Lou is called out if he doesn't leave Wuertz in to face every left-hander?

I notice every time. Can't not use the bullpen. Everyone is crying about taking Wuertz out. Is it that they took Hill out or Wuertz out? If Wuertz stayed in and the team won 1-0 then what? Still the wrong decision? It's freaking baseball, I watch enough to know that things go wrong, and things go right. With this team things go wrong all the time and it sucks for all of us.

You have a 25 man roster for a reason, you need to use them. Doesn't matter how bad the bullpen is. In 2003 Baker refused to use the bullpen because it was horrible and now everyone cries that he ruined Wood and Prior because of it.

Nobody can win when a team plays like crap. They need the players and when a pitcher can't perform they should be held accountable, sent down, cut whatever, doesn't matter how much they are paid.

The right thing in this game was to take him out and try to get the win, use Wuertz for 2 innings and Dempster in the 9th.

Cubs should be, at the worst, three back of Milwaukee right now because they should have swept this series. And this doesn't even include the blown 4-0 and 5-1 (the Mets' five run ninth game) leads in two of the games against the Mets and the game where they gave up 6 in the bottom of the seventh against the Phillies. This is absolutely pathetic. The Brewers are trying to give the damn division away and the Cubs can't take advantage of it. The Brewers are 4-12 since sweeping the Nationals on May 9. Since then, the Cubs are 6-11. They should be 11-6 and tied for first place right now.

If Lous way of letting Hendry know to get rid of Eyre is to put his team in a bad situation, then he should be fired now. They have things like email, text messages, phones, and even these things called cell phones that can be used to convey to Hendry he wants Eyre off the team.

Lou? I'll bet he doggedly refuses to use computers and pda's. Doesn't seem like the type.

Anyway, he's on our roster. If he can't be used, then he should be gone, period. Mr. Eyre, that is.

Given, I doubt that he is trying to send a message by putting him in in that situation. However, Eyre riding the pine for a week I think was message enough. Ultimately what is he going to do? He has to bring in a lefty.

Barrett has just been bad this year. He could not get a bunt down in the 8th with a runner on 2b with no outs, he made his routine mental mistake behind the plate today in the 11th, and he did nothing at the plate today.

If Lous way of letting Hendry know to get rid of Eyre is to put his team in a bad situation, then he should be fired now. They have things like email, text messages, phones, and even these things called cell phones that can be used to convey to Hendry he wants Eyre off the team.

Given, I doubt that he is trying to send a message by putting him in in that situation. However, Eyre riding the pine for a week I think was message enough. Ultimately what is he going to do? He has to bring in a lefty.

Hendry's not going to eat his salary and admit his mistake. Don't we have him through 2008?

There were plenty of bad things for us... Barrett's throw to second, Lou bringing in Eyre. wild pitch/hit batter, etc. Bad teams do bad things.

So because the bullpen sucks, Lou must walk on eggshells and bring in the exact perfect person or he's an idiot? The perfect person of course being Howry or Ohman, every single time. Never mind that a strategy like that will send those 2 to the DL by July.

This makes no sense. Eyre sucks, he's on the team. Either get him off the team, or Lou will have to use him. Period, end of story.

Why? Wuertz is capable of getting lefties out, and was rolling. And even if he "had' to bring in a lefty, why not Ohman? Why bring in somebody who has sucked all year, and continually hurt his team? There is no logical reasoning in bringing Eyre into this game.

Barrett has just been bad this year. He could not get a bunt down in the 8th with a runner on 2b with no outs, he made his routine mental mistake behind the plate today in the 11th, and he did nothing at the plate today.

Barret shouldnt have been bunting in the first damn place. Another

"brilliant" move by the old man in the dugout. Our cleanup hitter bunting? Wow stupid

Barrett is bordering on being completely useless at this point. I think his offenseive numbers are decent at home, but he's Neifi-esque on the road...combine that with his typical bad to worse dfense and he's making Blanco look like a MUCH better option at this point.

You can't just bring in these 2 guys all the time and burn their arms out. That's why. It's takes an entire bullpen, not just the only 2 guys you have who aren't crappy.

If Eyre's not an option because he sucks, then it's up to Hendry to get an option that doesn't suck. And that's pretty much the end of the story.

You know what's funnier? We have Soriano for the next 8 years.

he chokes pretty regularly defensively late in the game, but he'd have to play with no mitt to make blanco look like a better option period, let alone a MUCH better option.

and, as i'm sure others have said...it's ridiculous to ask him to bunt right there.

](*,) ](*,) ](*,)

Pierre had a RBI today which makes them even. Soriano is flat out overrated and overpaid. Thank You Jim Hendry.
