Talking about the Cubs' back-to-back trips to both coasts with only a three-game series in between, Ramirez said the long trips are comparatively easy.

"I think it's tougher in Chicago with the day games," he said. "Here, we play night games, and we get time to rest. It's not because we're in the east or in the west. I think it's easier here because we get more time to rest because (we're playing) night games."

I hate these complaints, a better mindset would probably go a long ways in improving how they during day games at home.

The disadvantages of playing day games also carries over to the opponent.

Instead, they only focus on how it is a negative for them and it impacts them from that point forward.

I totally agree. People work in hotter environments every day for $12 per hour as opposed to millions per year. There is still 24 hours between games whether you're playing days or nights. The real reason is probably that after the day games, they go out and party half the night.

It's the Dusty mentality: Nothing that goes wrong is ever your fault.

I guess my question is, If they have to get up at 8:00 AM to get to the ballpark at 10:00, are they getting to bed by midnight? If not the trouble isnt the day games.

These complaints really hold no water anymore. With Wrigley holding more and more night games the difference between the Cubs day games and other teams isn't a lot. There is still more day games but not enough to really make a difference.

It's still a pretty large difference. Last year the Cubs has 2842 at-bats during day games. The next highest total from anyone in the majors was Oakland and San Francisco tied at 2086 at-bats. That's still a massive disparity.

As far as the day games cause more trouble for the Cubs than the others, I have no idea what to think about that. If there is an effect, than it is worse for the Cubs (even though both teams have to play in the same conditions, for the Cubs it is the cumulative effect throughout the season that builds up). I'm not sure I believe that there is any effect at all to build up though.

From where I sit, they suck at night just as bad as they suck during the day. What's the difference?

Exactly. 1-3 on the west coast with being "well rested." This excuse needs to go away. It's getting real tiresome.

I didn't realize there was that much of a difference. That being said I never thought playing day base ball made that much of difference anyways.

I freakin hate these complaints. How many day games do they play at home now? About 55? 60? Get over it already. They had a freakin day off before they headed out to the coast this past weekend. You tired, Aramis? Ask Lou for a bleeping day off.

CUBS are 13-13 in day games

CUBS are 8-12 at night

Play more day games !!

The opposition plays better in the day, the night, in rain, in snow, wind blowing in, wind blowing out, week days, weekends, home, away, AL, NL...you name it. I think it's because the other teams are better than the Cubs.

Meh, it's probably more due to the fact that he hits better at home, and more of the day games are at home.

Honestly, the more night games the Cubs can play, the better by me. I hate being the only club to play during the day on a Tuesday, and missing the game because I have to do silly things like put food on my table.

Day baseball during the week sucks. Good for ARam. I hope all the Cubs keep complaining. Let's get out of the damn dark ages for change.

sounds to me like he was just answering a question. I can see why athletes don't want to talk to the media.

He seems to prefer the daylight, whether it's at home or on the road..........
