Ok, but that doesn't mean Murton is getting screwed. They are playing against RHP and have more power than Matt.

Yes, it does, because 90% of baseball is right handed. And where did this idea come from that he cant hit righties, anyway? He's batting in the upper .280's with an OBP of .350 lifetime against righties. Granted, it is better against lefties...but it's not like he cant hit righties

Murton has gotten some time against right-handers-I would like to see more (which will probably happen when either Pie is sent down or Jones is traded) but he has seen some time. BTW, only about 70% of starting pitchers are right-handed IIRC.

Yea, actually I just pulled the 90% out of my...hat.

But i'd venture to say a good number of those 30% are relievers...

John Dewan says the Cubs are projected number two best team in the NL +21 (after the Mets). If they keep up the pace the Cubs will win 93 games.

.600 winning pct.

The fact is, the organizational philosophy is that you make a RHP face your toughest lefties, if only to disrupt his rhythm. This is not going to change. We have to live with it.

You cant pervent DLee from catching that, he has too great of a reach! Try to stop him fans, and it will be like Shaq holding the ball above the head of a midget.

Damn it Marquis.

Nobody said he can't hit righties. But you aren't gonna start Floyd/jones/Pie against lefties if you can start Murton there. So that basically leaves those other guys playing against righties. So until Murton proves that he is noticeably superior to those others he isn't getting 'screwed'.

Peripherals don't matter. We need to get more clutchy.

uh oh, Doumit ties it

Good news is, he didn't walk anybody in front of him so it's only tied.

I suggest having runners stand on 2nd base during batting practice to simulate hitting with RISP.

And having a lefty throw batting practice.
