The real question is...do we suspend this game thread or put all the games tomorrow in one thread. You know we have to keep up with the important things.

oooh, good question! I would think that separate threads would be easier to manage from the persepctive of the thread starter.

Resume posting in this thread for the suspended game.

Someone can start a new thread for the second game if the Cubs hold and davhern can't start a new thread.

Didn't Guzman pitch today in a monor league game? Anyone know what happend?

Badly: 3 IP, 7 ER, 4 H, 2 K, 4 BB, 1 HBP.

Not good...I wouldnt mind seein Cotts being 5th starter for now and Guzman in the pen

Seeing as the Cubs had him working on some things in his previous starts, I wouldn't be surprised if he did today too.

I'd definitely start Guzman over Cotts.

Since Rich Hill started on Monday, isn't Wednesday supposed to be his throw day? Any chance we see him "start" tomorrow?

i found this projected stat amusing and since im bored i will share...DLee is on pace for 104 RBI, but only on pace for 6 HR...this makes me wonder what is the biggest differential between a player's homerun and rbi totals ever?? not lookin for an answer unless you got it...just wondering about it. haha

Anyone else feel good about this game tomorrw? Anyone?

We need this game! both games! Something like this could turn the season around. I would hate to start the month 0-2.

He cannot be worse than Miller and his batting practice fastball.

I liked the good old days better when we would have had a W in the books already...that being said...Go Cubs...lets play 1.3 today!

In 1895, Steve Brodie had 134 RBIs with 2 HRs.

The most recent hitter with 100+ RBIs and 10 HRs or less is Paul Molitor in 1996 (113 RBIs, 10 HRs).

I doubt the Cubs would even consider it, but there's no reason he couldn't pitch an inning.

If Wuertz/Dempster pitch in the first game, would they be available for the second? If not, I say give Rich Hill a little work in the first game (forgive me for not trusting the bullpen with a 1-run lead) and save the others for the second.

There's a very good reason why he shouldn't. If it was routine for him to pitch in game action on his throw day, then I'd be fine with it. But throw days are not the same as game days. There's little to no benefit to screwing with his schedule.
