OK, given that the Cubs are going nowhere this year (or any year, for that matter), do you have a second team that you root for? I'll list a number of American League teams - I don't think you should be cheering for two NL teams. I'm omitting the Yankees as an option, because if you're rooting for them, then you're a horrible person and do not deserve to vote in this poll. I'll include the White Sox, in case there are any of those lame "well I'm from Chicago so I root for all Chicago teams" people.

yuck, I don't like any of those options (as I really sorta hate AL baseball). I wouldnt' mind seeing the Pirates improve

we have the spikes and the curve, my friend

this is true. at this rate, it's going to be a LONG wait for Spikes Opening Day

I picked Tampa. I'd go with Boston, but they're ability to beat the Yankees is overshadowed the overall obnoxiousness of everything about them since 2004. When Tampa beats the Yankees, the Boss goes crazy, and the Yankees are just embarrassed.

Carlos Quentin and Chris Young have been two of my favorite prospects over the past few years, so I am sorry to say, that I have a bit of a soft spot for the NL diamondbacks.

I root for the D-Rays, and am thrilled that they are 1/2 game up on the Yankees for 4th in the AL East, and only a game out of 3rd. If it wasn't for the toughness of that division, I think we'd actually see them pull off 75-80 wins this season.

I don't practice sports bigamy, no matter how ugly my current team is.

Ball State/Notre Dame?

Hmm, good point. Rationalization: BSU never plays ND in an important sport - there's almost no way they'll ever play in men's b-ball or football.

They potentially could have matched up in the baseball regional last year, but because BSU won their first game and ND lost they didn't match up.
