over under miller's ERA after game? 13.5.

Under. Over.

EDIT: I'm changing this because I didn't read that the wind is blowing out. First to 15 wins.

Winds blowing out?

Do I start Maddux or not...hmmm....

Yes I do. Because it's a win/lose situation. WELL. OFCOURSE He could give up 10 runs, AND Miller gives up 11. In that case you lose on both accounts.

I'm starting him myself.

Indeed. I'd love to see Miller join the competition in trying not to be labelled the goat of the rotation.

On that note, I'd like to mention how much I enjoy the fact that Marquis and his 6.20 ERA for StL last year, especially in light of the notoriously good production they get from their pitchers, has translated into sub-3 for the Cubs this year. He was the preseason favorite for whipping boy, and hopefully Miller will be on his heels soon.

Was that really Marquis who pitched last night? :P

Marquis has had some good movement on his pitches. This maybe why his walk total is up though.

I was watching the Tribune show on Comcast last night. One of the panelist made a good point about the White Sox that may also apply to the Cubs. The Same conditions that are leading to the hitters hitting poorly may be why the pitchers are pitching well. Basically maybe the pitching isnt as good as it has appeared so far.

Steve Stone was on the Score this morning and basically said 1-2 more bad outings by Miller and Guzman will be the 5th starter.

on a side note...the Score rules in the morning when you don't have to listen to Mike North.

That's the going rumor. The cubs.com stats page has his ERA listed as 2.65 as well. That can't be right. :)

i find it ironic that many of the players that people on this board were worried about (marquis, lilly, cotts, dempster) have done very well while guys who are supposed to perform like z, howry & eyre have gotten rocked. just an observation but of course its very early yet.

last night guzman showed what a big factor the mental aspect of the game is. coming out of the pen with a big lead he threw strikes and challenged the hitters. hopefully when he gets put in the rotation he can keep the same game plan.

part of me wants to see miller do well so the cubs can win. part of me wants to see miller do bad so he loses his job quicker to guzman, which will probably lead to more wins.

How about a quality start from miller, who is then traded later on tonight to the yankees for whatever spare change george has in his pocket? :)

I'm really curious to see what lineup Lou will put out there with Soriano out, Blanco likely starting, and potentially no Ramirez.

Wait, did I say curious? I meant terrified...

About the Score, absolutely. I never listen to it until after 10. Just so happend to turn it on during a Mike and Mike commercial.
