Dear cubs,

Stop bitching about the calls. Lohse is throwing strikes. Swing the friggin bat.

several of those are not hitting the outside corner

Guess I'll need to start rooting for Jacque's hammy to tear....

You're a terrible fan if that's the case.

And yours, too.

Wow. Just wow.

Boy, that takes me back. To the days when I read Cubs.com...

A lot of Cubs hitters are protesting calls.

The zone is incredibly big today, but the home plate ump has called it for both sides (seeing as both Lilly and Lohse both have double digit K's). So the Cubs hitters who are protesting the calls, are showing signs of desparation.

why didn't Quade send Soriano on Riot's single??

Cause we had no outs and 3,4,5 coming up.

it was dumb. Soriano is fast enough to score

The rule of thumb that 3rd base coaches uses is this: If the ball gets to the OFer (in this case the CFer) before the runner even gets to third you hold the runner up. In this case Soriano was a good 3 steps away from 3rd when the ball got to Freel. Holding Soriano up there was the good call.

Yeah, I don't think you can fault Quade for not wanting to risk a baserunner on third with nobody out and the best hitters in the lineup at bat.

none of those guys have gotten a hit today.

give me a break.

freel threw home and it was cut off because soriano was standing on 3rd.

Give me a break, they should have forced the action when runs are scare. Force them to make a good throw. Quade sent Theriot is a similar situation in MIL (the CF had the ball and if it hadn't been for a great slide he was out).

The last strike 3 called on Lee wasn't even close.

It's pretty tough to hit anything when blue is calling 6 inches off the plate away and a good 4 inches below the knees.

They are very close and since they have been called all day the ump is very consistant. They gotta adjust better late in the count.

I'm going to say it again, but I can't freakin stand the guest conductor thing. They need to do away with this immediately.

Also, Cubs should stop swinging at every pitch.

I'm hoping new ownership brings an end to the guest conductor. I think they should let Santo do it every game. Then from time to time, if a former Cub like Sandberg, Banks, Williams, Fergie, Grace, or whoever happened to be there they could take Santo's place. I'd change it to Santo or a former Cub. No one esle.

Lee needs to at least try to foul it off though

The same reds guy who yesterday said he loved how good Marty Barret was for the cubs.

Jeff Brantley or tHom Brennaman?

Thom I believe

I'll guess the collective IQ of that booth does not equal their collective shoe size.

Again, we had first and third with NO OUTS and the heart of the order coming up. You never ever want to make the 1st out of an inning at home. It wasn't worth it.

Thank god. It looks like Lohse might be done for the day.

not that it's going to matter much.
