Y! doesn't seem to have posted the lineups yet. My guess is they saw ours and thought it was a mistake.

lol

Our lineup is definitely small ball, I think we might actually do okay today.

Seriously, what's our payroll? Isn't it approaching $200m? The Royals probably have a more threatening lineup today.

Yeah, that was a typo on my part.

Point being - we have one of the highest payrolls in the league.

Oh come now. It's not that bad. Cedeno and Izturis in the same lineup might hurt, but Izturis has been doing surprisingly well at the plate recently.

LR on the pre-game (radio) saying Prior's injury seems the same as the last year or so. He mentioned the "laxticity" (is that the word?) in the shoulder and specifically mentioned the collision with Giles, which surprised me a little.

He basically said he didn't really know anything right now though, which isn't surprising.

Actually if you count a certain dl'd minor-league pitcher, the payroll would be over 103 mil, but who's counting :D

See what the media does? They perpetuate the $300 million payroll nonsense, keep repeating it over & over, no one ever challenges their facts.

Before you know it even Cub fans think we're spending twice as much as we are.

Agreed. IIRC, the White Sox have about the same payroll this year, and the Cardinals aren't far behind us.

The media keeps bringing up the fact that the Cubs spent $300 million in the offseason on players - and they say it all the time - but I rarely hear that the Cubs have a $300 million payroll. Maybe it's because I don't read the Chicago papers but I rarely hear it.

That doesn't mean I haven't already tired of hearing the number $300 million though.
