This is the home opener for the Cubs. They're coming off a disappointing loss to the Brewers but did take two out of three to win the series. The Cubs come in with a 3-3 record while the Astros (the home team of Monroe, La.) come in with a 1-5 record.

 

Woody has not done well against the Cubs the past few years posting a 5.93 in 30.1 IP since 2004. In the last three years he's started 3 games in Wrigley and has an 0-2 record with a 10.64 ERA in eleven innings.

 

Don't go below .500 Cubs.

 

EDIT: BTW Roast, you might have to wait a while to start your first game thread of the year because I'm planning on starting a bunch here.

Loretta could be a threat. Wow, 4 players who are 2 for 6 against Lilly. For Ensberg and Lane, both hits have been HRs.

I'll be making it to my fourth straight home opener. Should be a good one. If the Cubs are going to have a successful season, we're going to have to beat teams that we should beat at home. .500 on the road is fine and dandy, but we need to take care of business at Wrigley.

What are the pitching matchups for the last 2 games of the series? I don't think we're facing Oswalt or Jennings. Good opportunity for a sweep.

 

Chris Sampson vs Marquis on Tuesday and Wandy Rodriguez vs Hill on Wednesday.
