Z's not going to be winning any popularity contests in Milwaukee.

To be honest, Z's not going to be winning popularity contests anywhere.

3 ER in 7 IP - he should shut up.

Am I mistaken or is Z a CUB?

Maybe Z is trying to rile up the Brewers and get them so focused on him that they lose their focus on this series so that we can sweep them tomorrow?

Yes, and it's because he plays for my favorite team that it upsets me that he acts so immature.

Exactly how I feel about it. Just because he's a Cub doesn't mean that the fans have to stick up for the players in every instance.

DeRosa: *giggling* High Five!!

Soriano: Too slow :)

"I don't say that the Milwaukee Brewers are nothing, but I think Adam Dunn (is) better," Zambrano said. "There's no making mistakes when pitching against Adam Dunn. When you make a mistake against Adam Dunn, you pay for it. When you make a mistake against Milwaukee, sometimes they miss it and that's good."

Fixed for Z.

Exactly - I'm sure when Z said "Reds" he really meant Dunn.

I love Z but this comment crossed the line. I hate giving opposing teams bulletin board material, especially at the beginning of the year. And I hate to think of the uproar on this board if, say, Roy Oswalt ever said that about the Cubs after beating us.

Oswalt pretty much owns us - I could hardly begrudge him the satisfaction if he felt like going off.

Now if a Cardinal pitcher said it, considering the events of the last three years...

Is Oswalt even scheduled to pitch against the Cubs next week?

The Astros announcers said during the game that his next start would be against the Cubs in Wrigley.

I guess they're going to skip their fifth to get him against the Cubs.

But looking at the schedule, his next start would fall on an off day so they'll either push him up a day or back a day. Hopefully he pitches on the 13th and the Cubs miss him.

ESPN's probable pitchers have us facing Williams, Sampson, and Wandy. =P~

That's a thing of beauty if true.

Suntimes[/url]"]The Cubs miss ace Roy Oswalt in their home-opening series against the Houston Astros. The pitching probables for the series: Cubs' Ted Lilly vs. Astros' Woody Williams on Monday; Jason Marquis vs. Chris Sampson on Tuesday; and Rich Hill vs. Wandy Rodriguez on Wednesday.

If they don't score at least 89 runs in that series, they don't deserve to wear uniforms.

Brewers reactions to Zambrano's comments:

"You've seen his act out there. Why listen to anything that guys says?" "Seriously, that guy doesn't have much etiquette as far as I'm concerned. Zero mound presence. We'll face him a lot, and maybe we'll get him next time.

"The bottom line is he's one of the best pitchers in our league." "But some of the stuff that comes out of his mouth, I think a lot of people could do without, including some of his own teammates, I'm sure."

"It [ticks] us off a little bit. We'll see what happens the next time we face him."

"I don't really believe in that." "They won't forget. They know. But it can't take away from what you're trying to do. It's one man's opinion, and now it's your job to go out and maybe change his opinion."

Ridiculous. "Zero mound presence"? "Act"? As if anyone would act like that on the mound artificially. Zambrano's comments were a little odd and not very polite, but Estrada can stick it as far as I'm concerned.
