Brewers reactions to Zambrano's comments:

"You've seen his act out there. Why listen to anything that guys says?" "Seriously, that guy doesn't have much etiquette as far as I'm concerned. Zero mound presence. We'll face him a lot, and maybe we'll get him next time.

"The bottom line is he's one of the best pitchers in our league." "But some of the stuff that comes out of his mouth, I think a lot of people could do without, including some of his own teammates, I'm sure."

Ridiculous. "Zero mound presence"? "Act"? As if anyone would act like that on the mound artificially. Zambrano's comments were a little odd and not very polite, but Estrada can stick it as far as I'm concerned.

I agree with him--we all know that Z can be rattled and we often predict his next meltdown--he wears his emotions on his sleeve. That's what Estrada is referring to with his "zero mound presence" comment.

Z is going to have to back up these words next time he faces them. He should have picked his words more carefully; it's not like he's owned them (going into yesterday's game he was 7-7 with an ERA over 4 lifetime)...

If I was an opposing player, I would hate Zambrano for his act on the mound.

If I was an opposing player, I'd keep my mouth shut about Z's antics. 97+ mph up and in ends careers.

Not after Z's comments, I wouldn't.

If a player was afraid of 97+ mph up and in, he wouldn't be able to stand in the batter's box in the big leagues.

97 mph in the earhole ends careers.

Sammy sure wasn't the same after getting earholed. He was elite. Bill Hall and Johnny Estrada are not.

Z is old skool. Guys were pissed at Wood and Prior for rocking the inside in '03. None of them charged the mound. None of them ran their mouths. That's more than professional respect. It's fear. Z can pitch inside with the best of them. He's wild enough to get away with earholing someone w/o ejection.

I don't think Z's comments were professional (I ragged on him in other threads), but there's a difference between theory and practice.

Bill Hall and Johnny "Michelin Man" Estrada can KMA.

Zambrano is right, there is nothing scary about the lineup the brewers throw out there everyday. wether they get him anytime in the future means nothing as well.

people who think the cubs are the only team that need career years to get far are mistaken

and if im not mistaken, ill be there on April 23rd
