Just please stay away from McRoberts as far as you can, Pax.

Horford Horford Horford.

I would love that.

Thirded. Horford's going to dominate.

:x

That's the correct usage.

you got me before I edited :)

Hah, I was wondering where you said that - figured that was there before your post about the Knicks.

how many from this KU squad are going to jump early??

Probably Wright, I think Rush should too.

I think Wright stays. Rush should go, and he probably will.

How come? He's a lotter pick, imo.

He's said since he stepped on campus he wanted to graduate in 3 years, and he's on schedule to do it. Also, he'll play the 3 in NBA, so he probably needs to develop his shot a bit more.

That said, if I were him, I'd be gonzo, and it would hardly be earth-shattering if he decided to forego graduating and enter the draft.

McRoberts is gone. He's been talking about "when" he leaves early for the NBA since high school. And, according the ESPN link, he's signed with an agent. Regardless, he's gone. He'll be picked in the lottery, and he'll make a team very disappointed.

Duke is going to make the tournament next year. They won't be great like past Duke teams, but let's be realistic.

Julian Wright would be a top-10 pick, no doubt, but he's stayed true to that three years to graduate plan. We'll see, though, I figure he'll end up leaving.

Keep losing Pacers, keep losing...

What backcourt player are the Pacers eyeing? They have huge voids at both guard spots. That GS will put them in mediocrity for many years...

I really don't know. I don't follow the NBA as closely as other sports. It's hard to say as they may not even have a draft pick. They do really, really need an talent/athleticism infusion at guard. Thing is, if they do end up with a pick, the best players available will likely fall into the Granger/Williams category of forwards. The best big guys will be gone and it may be too high to pick any of the guards. Unless the lottery could smile on them...

That's the problem-it seems like 9 of the top 10 picks are big men. The problem for the Pacers is if they don't get a top 10 pick, they won't have a pick in the draft at all (1st or 2nd round) and that definitely won't help them get any better. If they get a top pick, they may just have to pick a big man and blow up the team through trades.

Agreed. They certainly aren't in an enviable position. If they get a pick, the best idea may just be to draft a big guy, blow the team up and build around Granger-Williams-draft pick. If they don't get a pick? Ugh. Unless they can do something bold and creative, it will probably just be time to move O'Neal.

I'll be quite surprised if McRoberts is a lottery pick.

Prepare to be surprised. Not saying I agree with it, I vehemently don't, but everyone places him that high.

hope there are some good foreign players this year, because after the top 8 or so, this draft looks mighty thin

I didn't see it posted anywhere, but Randolph Morris has signed with the Celtics. I guess that makes him the earliest of the early entries.

I think you mean the kincks-2 years, 1.6 million

It would be the first time that I can remember where a player might play in the NCAA tournament and the NBA playoffs in the same season.

Why did I write Celtics after reading Knicks?

Anyway, good week for him, I guess: play a little college ball, make a million bucks... ho hum.

Some guys I'd prefer to McRoberts:

Greg Oden

Kevin Durant

Brendan Wright

Al Horford

Joakim Noah

Corey Brewer

Jeff Green

Roy Hibbert

Nick Young

Acie Law IV

Spencer Hawes

Julian Wright (whoops, just saw snood's post)

Brandon Rush

There are a couple other players I'd consider before McRoberts too - especially since I expect a few of these guys to return. And I know some of the foreign guys like Jianlian and Splitter are considered lotto picks.

I'd take Gasols brother over McRoberts.

I think we can all agree McRoberts will be pathetic in the NBA right?

I think he can be a solid role player - especially if he's teamed up with a big man who has a good inside game.

I don't know. I personally don't think he'll be successful, but he does handle the ball extremely well for a big man (I've seen him cross a few guys over this year believe it or not), and if he ever develops that 15 foot jumper, he has a shot at being a solid role player.

I don't disagree about any of those names. Still, since it seems Wright is staying, even including the two international players mentioned, you only named 14 players. If one of those guys doesn't come out, or one team likes McRoberts more, then he's in the lottery. I'm sure there will be other surprises that move up the draft charts, but I just mean you barely listed enough to keep him out of the lottery. Again, I want to stress that I wouldn't pick McRoberts very high -- I think he's a role player at best -- but he's likely to be a lottery pick.
