Good for Tubby. One national title and consistent NCAA appearances wasn't enough for the fans at UK b/c they have nothing else to root for.

 

basketball is easily the dominant sport here, but UK's football and especially baseball programs have been on the rise of late.

my reference was only to those illini fans here (and on chicago sports radio) whose world so heavily revolves around illini hoops that they can make the Cubs signing Marquis have to do with their school. I don't consider you one of those people

On a board for a professional team located in illinois. We could talk about penn state. Apparently they are going to try and field a team again next year. I think it is cute really.

i guess that would depend on who they replace him with, and whether they opted for UK for the coach or for the school.

 

Either way, I'm all for more powerhouse schools in the Big 10. I know it hurts everyone else's chances, but a really strong UofI, IU, MSU, Michigan, OSU, Wisconsin, now Minny.....fun stuff.

that's because penn state has a rather non-existant basketball program.

I had heard too that he was signed, sealed, delivered KU, but in the last couple days it's come out that Self is offering someone else too, or that something that Self has done recruiting-wise may steer Releford away from Lawrence. I'm not a scout subscriber so I don't know the exact details.

 

EDIT: Looks like Self is after Willie Warren, and for whatever reason that means Releford isn't as likely.
