Here are some things I am looking forward in tonight's game:

1: The Bears have to IMPOSED their will, their physical style of play on the Colts. If the Bears can establish the run, and keep Manning off the field for atleast 35 minutes---considered the Colts run "D", if you can call it that---then that would be the best "Defense" the Bears could use on Manning.

2: Harrison/Wayne are a great 1-2 punch, but both Wayne and Harrison have been rendered "persona no grata" in the playoffs. Hence the reason why Clark has been the "highest receiver" in two of the three games this yr. If Vasher/Tillman can get physical with Harrison/Wayne and forced them out of their routes early, this would be a big victory. Vash/Tillman has to dictate the routes Harrison/Wayne can take. For this to work...Harris and Manning HAS to play their best games. The idea here is forced Manning to do a drop off to Clark underneath, and pretty make Manning settle for Clark for 5 yrs, and remember the Bears are the best open field tackling team in the NFL, so don't expect to many "YAC" for the Colts rec.

3: Rex Grossman has to be Trent Dilfer. What I mean...you don't have to win the game---even tho, Grossman has the spunk and the arm to do so, it's his "smarts" that prevents him---but don't lose the game. Don't give Manning a short field to work with. So if---considering the weather forecast---if Grossman can produce similar #'s that Dilfer did a few yrs ago against the Giants---12-25 for 153 yrd 1 TD, and NO INT, or FUMB, I believe will have a great shot up pulling off the great "non-upset" upset.

Personal note: The Bears first play from scrimmage, I would like to see Smith show Grossman he has confidence in him, by calling a deep pass play. Target either Bradley or Berrian, seeing as the Colts can't cover either guy, and if Grossman has his swagger, as his claims his does, I see him hitting one of those two for atleast a 40 yrder to begin the game, or early in the game.

Bears need to do the New England specialty. When they beat the Rams in '01 and every time they have abused the Colts it is because their defense plays extremely physical. Especially against the receivers. You get Wayne and Harrison afraid to go over the middle and cautious when stretching for the ball and you will win.

I played a few prop bets on the game one of which was the over on the longest punt return being 18.5 yards. I think Devon Hester will break a couple of big returns. Unless.of course, Indy just kicks it out of bounds all the time. Which could happen.

Go Bears ! 31-28

I think that's a pretty safe bet. While Indy is worse on kickoffs then punts, punt returners stats are inflated against the Colts because Hunter typically kicks it about 60 yards in the air, which give the returners a little room to run. I hope he kicks it higher and shorter-but that strategy will have to be seen.

There's a light rain in Miami right now. It will be a 50-60% chance of rain the rest of the day leading up to kickoff and a 30-40% chance during the game. Winds will likely be out of the NNE at 13 mph.

Anyone else planning on two beers a quarter? :P

Whimp! You have to do a beer per possession!

How are you all feeling today? Excited, nervous maybe a tad bit anxious? Well good luck to all of you out there that live and die with either of these teams and hopefully it'll be a fun game to watch!

all of a sudden i'm real irritated with all the casual fans that will be watching the superbowl. i've heard these lately "the commercials are usually better than the game" "peyton seems like such a nice guy, he deserves to win" all the talk of the snacks and the parties and the high def TVs. everybody gets to see a great bears team in the biggest game in the world and they dont even realize it. they dont deserve to watch this game.

/end rant

take it easy on the booze, you dont want to cloud your memory of this game.

go bears!

The Super Bowl is really all about the coporate sponsors and the casual, rich fans. And celebrities.

Somebody said there will be 65,000+ seats available, and only 25,000 go to the season ticket holders. This game is football taken to Academy Award levels. It's when people who don't pay attention all year long finally sit down and watch football.

Wow, the NFL just announced there will be a regular season game played in London next year. Giants/Phins -- week 8, Wembley Stadium.

I'm sooooo tired of hearing Steve Young talk about "slaying my dragon" in the Super Bowl. Ugh. He's obsessed with that phrase.

I know. Even Super Bowl 41 somehow becomes about *him*.

For a supposedly humble Mormon, he sure is egotistical.

Um, if you wait till 1, you won't get a table. It's 11 a.m., and there are already lines outside of many of the bars.
