Well. We prepared for this game like crap. All week long I got the impression the Bears were just glad to be here.

Grossman played like *&^#. Two botched snaps? That should never happen. Ever. Much less in the SB.

The OL blocked like crap for 90% of the game. Benson getting hurt killed our running game, but that's just how it goes.

Hester is the man. Good game dude. Sorry your teammates were too busy dinking around in the media circus to prepare for this game.

We blew assignment after assignment and tackle after tackle.

Indy is good, but they're not that good.

They're the best team in the world.

No, they're the winner of the SB, not the best team in football, much less the best team in the world.

If that game is played on grass, Bears win. That may sound like sour grapes, but it's true. How about we actually have the SB in football conditions instead of a vacation destination.

Who is the best team in the world then?

Sorry-have to jump in here. That game was played on grass-the best grass anywhere found, but still that was a grass field, not a turf one.

As for football conditions-was the rain through the whole game not enough? How do you suppose to make it better then the conditions of this game?

You don't think playing in sunny conditions without rain wouldn't have helped the Colts either? Both teams had to play in the same conditions out there.

And? Some teams are built to compete on tuff and others on grass. Same conditions my hiney.

The Bears are a cold weather grass team. The Colts are a turf team.

Hey Packers fans, I now understand your hatred of John Elway. It makes perfect sense after tonight's debacle.

Ugh.

That being said, I really believe it was only a matter of time before Peyton won a Super Bowl. He's had great teams around him year after year; teams that can legitimally call themselves Super Bowl contenders. At least you guys didn't lose to Peyton when he was in his mid-30s like we did to Elway.

You do know that the Colts play their home games in a DOME right?

And like CCP said, this game was on grass, not turf.

Still have the '85 Bears :). Nothing will take that away. I think I'll watch the highlights of that '85 season.

And the '07 and '08 Cubs!!!!

The worst thing about this game is that the 1985 Bears are going to keep being brought up over and over.

I almost hate that team.

Until they win it, they will be.

The future Bulls teams will always be compared to the Jordan years, iuntil they win it and the closer they get, the more you'll hear about it.

Meh. I'm talking out my ass. My Bears lost and I'm not feeling too rational at the moment. :(

I was 3 at the Super Bowl, so I'm not as lucky as you.

At least I'll always have MJ and the Bulls...hopefully I'll see another team I root for win. But now that I've seen 3 of my teams come close and lose, I guess it's not going to be too likely.

The Bear's were simply out of their league. The Colts didn't play their best football, and still beat the Bears, the Bears would have lost to NE, SD, Bal, or Indy. SIMPLE.

I blame the refs. Considering the conditions, there was NO reason not to cancel the game upon conclusion of the opening play. It waas so dangerous and they put all the players in harm's way.

Get out of here with that crap! Who are you Sean Salisbury? The Bears played like absolute crap and lost by 12 points. The Colts certainly played alot better then the Bears, but let's not get too stupid!

I was excited for baseball up until tonight, now I don't even care.

Exactly.

I know -- I'm screwed. But I am also doomed to keep hoping that one of these years, one of these teams I root for will finally win it all.....

I can't stop being a fan.

Go Cubs!

This guy has it right. I demand this game be struck from the records and replayed when the conditions are more suitable for safe football!

I was only 9, but my dad purchased a tape of the highlights of that year and I appreciate them more now than I did back then.

Yeah, I feel ya. As the great Harry Caray once said...

“Chicago people are kind of fatalistic, but they continue to hope that somehow, some way the Cubs will shock even them and win it just one time. Their fatalism allows them to enjoy the team's success, knowing that one horrible thing will happen down the line to rip the rug out from underneath them."

I was 8-10 and 13-15 during the repeat three peats, thank goodness for the DVDs and videos because I really didn't appreciate the first three as much as I should have.
