  1. I had to get in on this. Z is going to be a 100 million dollar man. He's a guy thats been to two All-Star games before by 25. Should be three. Plus he a pitcher. A deal would have to include Reyes at the bare minimum.
  2. They're the best team in the world. No, they're the winner of the SB, not the best team in football, much less the best team in the world. If that game is played on grass, Bears win. That may sound like sour grapes, but it's true. How about we actually have the SB in football conditions instead of a vacation destination. The Bear's were simply out of their league. The Colts didn't play their best football, and still beat the Bears, the Bears would have lost to NE, SD, Bal, or Indy. SIMPLE. sweet, i love when random people repeat what they hear on espn on the internet and act like its a unique thought What? I don't need ESPN or the internet to tell me what to think. The Bears couldn't have beaten New England, Baltimore, or San Diego, or Indianapolis, and that blantantly obvious. You make it seems as though Indy, came and played their best game. When the fact remains, They played shaky as well.

  4. Here are somethings that people need to be especially mindful of in my opinion. 1. OT and OG vs. Freeny, can they contain Freeny, I'm sure they are going to double team him so, we'll see how that works. 2. Rex Grossman, I'm sure he's not going to come out, gunslinging, and doing stupid stuff, but he will he find the apparent hole in the Colts secondary for the third downs? 3. Devin Hester, I'm sure most people think he is the X factor in the game, and he may very well be, but you guys have to remember Hester muffs catches a lot like almost every game I've seen, and I've seen most Bears games this season, will he be anxious to make something happen, and fumble the football? That's one huge key for the Bears also in this game. Their OT's vs the Colts DE's. As you may have noticed several times last night, Freeney and Mathis got in several times, but Brady did a very good job of eluding them, stepping up, and making passes. Grossman has not been nearly as consistent in evading the rush like that (although I was impressed with a couple evades in the last game). Also, when Freeney or Mathis get to a QB, they are the league leaders in forced fumbles. For example, the Bengals game. Freeney had 3 sacks, and on all 3 sacks he also forced a fumble. The Bears OL will have to step up and block these two in order to protect Grossman, especially if the Bears get into some passing downs. As a Colts fan, I will say that I am scared to throw the ball over the middle. I'm sure the team will not be (as they are very precise on their routes over the middle, and usually hang on to the ball) but those linebackers for the Bears are such ballhawks that I am worried about a turnover or two. The Colts D is going to make the Bears beat them with their short to intermediate passing game. The Colts are going to load up against the run, and their defense is designed to not give up the deep ball. There will be some openings underneath (or sometimes down the seam), it will just be up to Grossman to take them. This should be a great ballgame. Both teams still have a lot to prove, and they will be doing it on the biggest stage. Remember the Super Bowl factor also-Super Bowls tend to start a little slower than other games as the two teams feel each other out, neither side wanting to make the huge mistake. My optimism says that should help the Colts, as they have been a 2nd half team all year long, but really, anything could happen and I wouldn't be surprised. Good luck to all the Bears fans, let's keep it civil (before and after the game), most of all, let's enjoy it-it's been quite a while since either of our teams have made it this far, and I am going to enjoy the win yesterday for a few more days :D .
  5. Seconded. Brady had a crappy game today, threw in one good drive, and won. Unbelievable. So damn mad right now... Crap. I don't even care. Bears could beat either of these teams What happen to the Bears last time they played the Colts. I think Manning threw for fours TD's. The Bears can't beat either the Pats or Colts. Thanks for the comparison to 2004. I'm sure nothing has changed since then. Not really much roster wise has changed.

  7. Is anyone ever going to get close to Joey D's record, I don't think so.
  8. While I must admit the evidence wasn't indisputable, Potamalu, didn't have possession before he hit, the ground, he gathered possesion while on the ground roled over, and got up at the same time, his knee hit the ball, is rolling on the ground a football move? I always thought a football move had to be made while standing up, I'm emotionally drained for the second year in the row, I invest to much energy in my favorite teams, like the Cubs, and Colts, and Bears. I feel horrible.
  9. When was the last time the best NFL team has won the Super Bowl? But unfortunately football is to rough a sport, to have a series format. I mean if the Steelers had beat the Colts three out of 5 times, you can't really argue that the best team didn't win, off games are can happen to even the best team. I can't remember the last team that was the best in the NFL won, maybe the Rams in 1999, thats 7 years.
  10. I don't know if Prior is another Wood, but I don't trust Rothschild to be the one to correct Prior's mechanics if there is a significant flaw. Looks a lot like Tom Seaver's delivery to me. I'm not an expert of the subtlies of pitching mechanics, scouts said he had the "perfect" delivery.
  11. Abreu + Utley wouldn't do it for you? :D Abreu, Utley, and Rollins, for Prior and Walker? I'm still probably wouldn't do it.
  12. I really don't think FL is interested in Prior. A) he makes more than the league minimum, and b) by the time these young guys grow up and make an impact, they might have lost him to FA by that time. Actually I agree - I wouldn't trade Miggy for Prior, Hill and Pie. I know that fans have a way of overvaluing thier own players, but if you're in contention AND building for the future, I think you'd be foolish to pass on that deal. Well, I'm not that high Pie. Hill is nice. Prior is a stud but considering money and age Miggy is just flat out has better value. Plus I prefer position player young studs over pitchers because of durability. I am not sure even Prior and some prospects would get it done. Plus why wouldn't you do it? You get the Cubs top prospects, Prior and a decent salary for a year or two and then you ship him out for more top prospects or young major league talent at the time these other prospects are getting to the major leagues. First off, I think Prior is great. I would trade Carp for him straight up if the Cubs offered. But considering age, money and production I think you could argue Miggy is the most valuable player in baseball. At a risk of sounding like a troll the Cubs top prospects aren't really that great. They are good but I think Pie only ranks in the top 30 in baseball. In terms of production age, and money, I think Felix Hernandez has probably taken over that spot. Or will atleast next season.
  13. I'd trade the entire farm for the for Willis and Cabrera.
  14. Would I trade Z for Miggy, thats kind of hard, Miggy is probably the most valueable hitter in terms of age, with the exception of Pujols. Carlos could be a Cy Young winner. MVP or Cy Young?
  15. Is that Descartes quote from Meditation of First Philosophy...?
  16. Blalock is a two time all-star and just turned 25 today. Two seasons ago Texas would have traded Tex, before Blalock. Blalock plays great D. I'm not sure really who is getting the best of this deal, Beckett has ace potential though, and I would possibly trade Pie for him.
  17. My sentiments exactly, this seems exactly like the Remlinger deal 3 years ago. Only Rem was a little older.
  18. Isn't MacDougal pretty comparable to Bobby Jenks of Chicago WhiteSox fame?
  19. Kevin Mech would probably take a lot more than Sergio Mitre. I would won't at least a good prospect, maybe not a Murton or Pie. Mench is young, has power, makes contact, and it's a poor offseason for outfielders. Kevin Mench is one notch under Aubrey Huff at top form, and I'd pefer him to Bradley.
  20. It says 6 years 50 million which is about 8 million a year. I say a deal something like this 5/42 million fixed. with a 6th for 8 million that would work.
  21. What he said. Name the last time Hendry traded the best prospect in the organization and got fleeced. (no, the Dontrelle trade does not qualify) Cruz for Pratt? If Juan Cruz is the best prospect in our organization, or if he ever was, then I shudder at the thought of the future of the Cubs. Juan Cruz at one time was rated higher than Mark Prior by Baseball America.
  22. Aram is just to good to trade. He about to enter his prime, and I think in a year or two, we will be having the Pujols vs. Ramirez debate between Cards and Cubs fans. Had he not got hurt he would have been a .300 40 120 guy this season.
  23. This Felix Hernandez kid must be the second coming. I knew he was highly touted, but I recall Baseball American saying they would take Felix or Prior for the career, this is the same site that said Prior would definitely win a Cy Young or two this decade.
  24. Say that again, this time with a straight face. Read his scouting report, says he has Josh Beckett like stuff. Beckett stuff is considerably better than Zambranos.
