So what's the current status of the secondary? Your injured players back?

Yes, except of course Mike Brown whose been gone since week 7 and won't be back.

I can't decide what was a bigger loss for the Bears this year. Losing Brown, or losing Tommie Harris. Harris got all the pressure on the QB, but Brown was a pretty intimidating guy in the secondary.

Everyone says Harris. I say Brown. There was a noticeable, immediate dropoff the moment Mike Brown went down. We were already giving up more than I was comfortable with, even when Tommie was still healthy.

But look, we've essentially got 2 injured starters out of 22. That's not too bad. Yeah they hurt, but a team should still be able to carry on without every single starter healthy.

I agree. Also, Brown's injury hurt our run D more than our pass coverage. Mike Brown was the guy who filled the gap on running plays, and once he went down our run D took a big hit. We miss them both, but if we could have only one bck for the next 2 games I would pick Brown. That said, the only way I want Brown back next year is if they add another quality safety too. His yearly injuries have a Prior/Wood effect on the Bears.

But still, losing two pro bowl caliber players on one side of the ball really hurts. If those two were healthy now, damn, Bears defense would be downright scary.

This thread is going to be longer before the game even starts than virtually all of the Cubs full game threads this year.

Imagine a potential Super-bowl thread.

The forum might go down and for once it wont be because of the Cubs.

This coupled with your avatar makes it the post of the year.

And only 18 days in!

Hey I didn't say that it couldn't be surpassed later.

Anybody else do the "Freeze New Orleans" yet? I dont get why its Freeze N.O. It should be "Freeze Saints" or just "Saints." The game isnt being played in New Orleans. I dont want to wake up Sunday with record lows in Louisiana. I still followed it though.

But whatever it takes. They should release a bunch of black cats in the opponent's locker room, put ladders over their entrance, etc.

I say to hell with all that and just settle for beating the everlovin' crap out of them on the field.

Muhammad was added to the injury report as probable due to illness, but Ogunleye was removed.

Unless he's strapped down to a hospital bed, I don't see him missing this game due to illness. While it might be a slight factor in his performance, I would be in total shock to see him not play. And I thought Ogunleye made a couple key plays against Seattle. So I'm glad he's playing. Hopefully he can keep up his level of intensity and get to Brees a few times.

Any spacifics on what type of ilness?

Flu.

According to Fox News Chicago, there will be 2-3 inches of snow by Sunday afternoon.

60% chance according to NWS (most of the accumulation before noon). Expected high of 29°F.

i saw the same thing on Fox. Though, im not sure if it will make that much of a difference..

How many freezing cold games have the Bears played in this year?

more than New Orleans

Minnesota 21 Degrees, (15 at game start)

Seattle 35 degrees

off the top of my head

coldest games for New Orleans

42 at Pittsburgh

54 at NYG

Comcast just played part of an interview with Drew Brees where he said, and I'm paraphrasing, that they've all played in cold weather, some more than others, and that they played in Pittsburgh this year, and that was "pretty chilly". I have some man love for ya Drew, but this is gonna be a bit more "chilly"...

So far, every ESPN guy has picked New Orleans. (They don't put John Clayton's pick on here though.)

4 of 6 CBS Sportsline guys picked the Bears.

5 of 7 CNNsi writers pick New Orleans.

i just love it when most people pick against us...

All 4 guys on HBO's Inside the NFL picked the Saints. Costas technically picked the Bears, but he said he did that just because he "has" to pick against one of the others, I forget which one, though.

42 is "pretty chilly" and he went to Purdue? I'd understand if that was Reggie Bush saying that, but come on...

College football is over early enough that it's possible he just didn't play in a whole heckuva lot of cold weather.

True enough, good point.

Oh Henry!

Owned.

OH jeez an awkward position the quarterback is in after a sack and the tight end is on his knees.

Believe me, there are some we can post with Favre and Urlacher.

Who's in the Conference Championship again?

Relax. Seriously, learn how to take a joke.

Dude I hate the packers like I hate spinach and terrorism and the view and I THINK THAT IS Hilarious.

It must suck to not have ever seen a Super Bowl in your lifetime.
