Swweeeeeeet!

Joe Horn and Omar Stoutmire were just upgraded to probable at the press conference.

Really? Horn actually might play? I know his presence on the field alone causes problems, but do you think he'll be as effective not at 100%? Either way, that puts a hitch in the Bears defensive plans.

Well there were several rumors coming from anonymous players that Horn wasn't as injured as the Saints front office made him out to be.

That's shady :)

Wouldn't put it past Payton...he's nasty like that.

Although if they were gonna do that they should have waited until game time to unleash him. Now the Bears have time to factor him into their defensive schemes.

Hmm, he's still missed their last 5 games, so they couldn't have been blowing it that far out of proportion. Unless they really don't want him on the field.

Well, I personally don't push much stock in that theory about Joe playing possum. If anyone wants to be on the field, it's Joe, and nobody could hold him back from that except himself.

Yep...put Joe as probable even if he isn't gonna play so the Bears have to gameplan for him.

I don't think anyone thinks Thomas Jones has been great this season by any means. Most people here think Benson should be getting the bulk of the carries.

Incorrect!!! [-X

I think he's correct, I think most people here think Benson should get the bulk. I definitely think he should. He's been the better back.

Well, it's over.

Some psychic in New Orleans read her tarot cards and declared the Saints the winner.

I'll see your New Orleans psychic and raise you a Chicago psychic.

Hmm.. "Freeze New Orleans"

Sonia Choquette wants Bears fans to take a piece of paper, write ''Freeze New Orleans'' on it, then place it in a freezer.

Do as she says! We have to counter the voodoo mojo put on us by the New Orleans psychic!

Based on what? Their stats look pretty even when you divide them per carry. And while Benson may have improved his blocking, Jones is still clearly better in that category.

I just wrote down "Freeze New Orleans", folded it up, and put it in my freezer. If it works I'll be in awe.

Haha, I wasn't being sarcastic. I'm doing it as well.

LOL:

''I'm good at this,'' she said. ''Bears fans should put countermojo on the Saints by using the deep freeze. And we have the weather for that.

Alright, this whole thing has officially gone overboard.

My opinion is not based on a stat sheet.

Well, he is correct by saying most people think Benson should start, based on the poll somebody put up where Benson won in a landslide.

And I believe he's correct is saying Benson is better. The avg is the same right now, but I believe Benson gets hurt by never getting the chance to get on a roll like Jones gets. Benson has as many TDs in half the carries. It's hard to break it down via stats, and I know this is a cop-out, but going by what I see, I think Benson gets a lot more tough yards, and a lot more meaningful yards. Defenses seem to key on Benson more when he's in, making his job more difficult. I don't really buy much of the pass blocking talk, but at this point, I think it would make a lot more sense to start Benson and use him in most situations, when the defense isn't sure if it's run or pass. And then bring in Jones for obvious passing downs, when teams are going to be going all-out at the QB.

I think Jones is nothing more than a decent back. He's not a franchise guy. I think Benson could be a 1500-1600 yard back. Maybe he'll never compete for the rushing title, but I think he'd have a much better shot than Jones. Given their individual skills, I think it would be a lot smarter to pound the defense with Benson 20-25 times a game, then give Jones 10-15 touches as the change of pace back.

=D> Well said.

Another thing about Benson's YPC stats are that especially at the beginning of the season, he was rushing against 8 men in the box with the lead late, something TJ really didn't have to face.
