Guys, the weather will not decide this game. I hope it is cold, it could help the Bears a little bit. However if it is windy, I think that could be an advantage for the Saints because Rex trying to make big plays + lots of wind could equal lots of picks. This game will be decided by a lot of factors, but I just don't think the weather will be THAT big of a deal either way.

I agree. I saw your post after reading the end of this article.

while i agree with that article somewhat, its now as cut and dry as they make it seem.

the bears have now played on this field which has been really bad 2 times, new orleans hasnt at all. that is a advantage to the bears in my opinon. the field being what it is will most likely limit Reggie Bush and his ability to cut back and forth. Cold and wind are small factors but if it snows, that will be a big factor.

im not saying the Saints cant come in here in bad conditions and beat the bears, im saying that the bears have experience in bad weather conditions on a bad field, New Orleans dosent, the saints have only played 11 games in domes this year (8 at home, 2 against Atlanta, 1 against Dallas, semi dome)

The teams they beat not in domes were, Browns, Packers (first 2 games of the season), Tampa Bay and the Giants

Both Pittsburgh's field and the Giants field were chewed up pretty bad. I remember thinking how scared I was that one of our guys would get hurt.

But ya, Bears definitely have the advantage in that respect.

funny how the saints are good for the first time in forever and suddenly half the board are lifelong NO fans...

I swear upon all that is holy that you better not be talking about me. I've suffered my entire life watching this team every Sunday, many of those times I was watching in person in the Superdome, and I'll be damned if I'll be called a bandwagon fan, after ALL these years of suffering.

Ole Miss, I believe you, even though I dont think you should care. BUT, I demand you answer this question .. Who was the greatest fullback in the history of the Saints according to me?

If you answer this correctly... I decree that you are the king of all saints fans. If you answer incorrectly... we have killed time till the game starts.

I'm sure it's been asked here numerous times, but does anyone around here know of/post at any good Bears message boards?

I recognize a few of the posters here from over at the chicagobears.com board, but, and I'm sure those of you who have posted there will agree, that message board is pretty much trash. Very poorly moderated and lots of idiots. Much like the Cubs.com boards...

the article says this

"I’d be willing to bet that if you went back and looked the Bears record in so called “Bear Weather” games wouldn’t be all that impressive."

um, you're the reporter writing the article, look it up and give us real answers.

People underestimate the fact that the Bears players LIVE in this weather. While they may not practice in it, or have played few games in it, their bodies are most adjusted to the cold, and they can handle it better. Their everyday lives revolve around the cold, so this will help them. Will it decide the game though? Doubtful.

What's Joe Horn listed as on the injury report? Ugh this sucks my computers hard drive is all messed up so I'm missing all updates I could get from the internet except for once a day.

http://www.dabearz.com seems pretty decent.

Both these suck in comparison to Webwaymonsters.com

Webway has every single article on the Bears posted as they are written too. Its nice.

fwiw, they did the same thing for NFC North stuff, but that's when it was almost impossible for them not to win it.

hard to say because i cant find stats for games played only in December and January however

the bears are 5-2 the past 2 years at home in those months and 2-0 in bitterly cold games (2005 Atlanta and 2006 Vikings)

They lost the only game they played in Snow against Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh
