Playing Guitar Hero. I've played it and never suffered any injury:

Joel Zumaya-R- Tigers Dec. 14 - 11:14 am et

Tigers gM Dave Dombrowski told WXYT-AM on Wednesday the team had concluded Joel Zumaya's wrist/forearm troubles at the end of the season came from playing the Playstation 2 game "Guitar Hero," not anything pitching related.

It's only the beginning; just wait until next year when all of the Wii-related injuries begin to strike. The Tigers asked Zumaya to stop playing the video game, and he complied. Zumaya was pain-free during the World Series and should be 100 percent next year,

I beat it on expert and i've never touched a real guitar.

I never said you had to play a guitar to be good at Guitar Hero. Guitar Hero is infinitely easier than the real thing. Just that if you are not used to using your hands in such a manner and play it way too much, you get some side effects.

That's generally how it works. A lot of real guitar players are AWFUL when they first pick up the game... and thefore they despise it.... good times, haha.

That game can really cramp your hands up if you play it too long.

This is so true. If you don't take a break, your wrists and hands will hurt like a sonofagun.

I have yet to see a single case of this.

One of best friends has played the guitar for something like 15 years and he is absolutely awful at Guitar Hero. It's inexplicable, its such a simple thing to pick up, yet he can't handle it, even on medium.

As another guitar player, my impression of many of the GH songs were that some of the rhythms were more closely aligned with the bass drum than the actual guitar part. I've played a few of the songs before in a band and the GH timing can just be counterintuitive after that.

Still, I pretty much got the hang of it.

My roommate has played for 5 or 6 years and blows at Guitar Hero.

It's not that I don't think he could be good at it, it's that everyone blows at first and for some reason real guitar players think they should be good right away and give up when they aren't.
