I don't understand this whole idea of "solid investments". . It's not like you can't still wear a Zambrano jersey if he is no longer with the team or has injuries. He is still the MAN and a great cub! Same thing for your prior and wood jerseys. I'd be wearing a wood jersey right now if I already had one. The man came back for less because he is a Cub! And don't through those Prior jersey's away yet either!

I got a Zambrano. A sound investment.

I got a Zambrano jersey back in June 2004. Right about the point he really started to break out. Guess I'm good luck. Or that's what I'll fool myself into believing!

anyone want derwood's xmas present?

lolol

I have to say every time I scroll down this thread I chuckle.

it's sophomoric, but for some reason the big "69" is what gets me laughing. actually the thought of giving someone a jersey with #69 and his name on it is what cracks me up.

I never understood why you're a douchebag (in some circles) for putting your own name on a jersey, yet it is somehow macho to honor another man by putting his name on your own back. Such a public display of man love always seemed more emasculating to me.

That isn't to say I really give a crap whichever one someone chooses.

You mean besides the fact that you don't play for the Cubs?

jerseys are way too expensive, so i only have a few ( zambrono, maddux, wood, manning, and shockey)

i'd say the next jersey of currant players id get would be aram.

i'd also get a lee or soriano jersey.

classics that i'd love to have, grace santo sandberg + davis ( favorite player as a boy)

the real douchebag is the guy who, 3 years ago this week, broke into my house and stole 2 sandberg jeseys (among other things).

Did you ask Whitey Herzog?

they eventually caught the guy. We wasn't a whitey ;)

I've only owned two jersey with numbers on them and those were Alan Page's 88 and Carl Eller's 81. OK, they were just sweatshirts but I loved those shirts when I was younger. I do wear number 23 when I'm coaching.

Nope, didn't get them back. The guy was stealing stuff and selling it for crack money.

I'm sure he dumped the sandberg jerseys. . .. other than me and my mom, who would want a Sandberg Jersey in southeast arkansas?

I still love my Grace jersey.

For some reason, I have a Baker jersey that I got for cheap on Ebay back in early 04. What the hell am I supposed to do with that piece of garbage?

I would tape Sorianos name over the Baker. Voila, you have a Soriano jersey

I've always felt you should have a jersey that just says CUBS. Not advertise or smooch all over just ONE player. But. I'm gonna order me a Ramirez jersey. Seriously. That guy is such a cub at heart, he declined millions of dollars to come back to us. I feel the love man.

::orders ramirez jersey::

Haha I'm asking for an ARam jersey for Christmas.

The guy is just awesome

I have one Jersey. I got a Kerry Wood Jersey for my birthday which took place in April of 2004. I got it in the mail and wore it for the first time on the day he was injured in a May start against the Dodgers. He hasn't really ever been healthy since then. I don't think I will be picking up any more jerseys any time soon.

Can you get an Albert Pujols jersey?

Years ago I got a hockey jersey with a player's name on the back of it. He was traded within a year. After that I decided to never put a players name on the back of a jersey, no matter what sport. Jersey's are pretty expensive so if your jersey is rendered unwearable it is not a good thing. Although if I found a good deal on a jersey with a Classic Cub (Santo, Sandberg,Banks) I would probably buy it. Edited by hawkcub

I almost got a Mark Recchi Penguins jersey back around 1990 or 1991, literally weeks before he was traded to Philly

My only jerseys are a #32 PSU jersey (Ki-Jana Carter at the time) and a #7 Bengals jersey (Esiason)
