There was just an amazing play in the Georgia-Georgia Tech game. Reggie Ball fumbled, and there was a huge pileup for the ball (at least 6-8 bodies). Georgia's Tony Taylor went into the pile standing up-he didn't try to dive on the pile at all-he just reached into the pile, wrenched it away from all the people fighting for the ball, and ran 30 yards for the Georgia TD. 7-3 Georgia now in the 3rd quarter.

UK had a delay of game pentalty on UT's three yard line. they ended up not scoring. much closer game than i expected, but the fact that UK wasted several opportunities kills me.

Touchdown Georgia.

They should be going for two.

And they get it. 15-12 Georgia.

It's pretty bad for the ACC that the sixth best team in the SEC is on the verge of beating the team that could be the ACC champion.

It hurts ND too since this is their top win so far.

Lou Holtz.>>>ND is a great team? I don't consider any team this year as great.

I don't understand why ESPN employs Lou Holtz and allows him to speak on national television. The guy makes statements that hold absolutely no merit and are completely off base. Don't get me wrong, Mark May isn't great either, but at least he puts thought into his arguments and provides a good reasoning to go along with them.

As an ND fan, Lou Holtz embarrasses me at this point. When someone tries to make an argument for your team and they are so horribly bad at it that it can easily be shot down by the whole country, the country can become convinced that there is no better argument out there. Every time Lou says something about ND, it just makes ND look weaker and weaker because of his horrible representation of the facts. I hope he retires-soon.

He should stick to being a motivational speaker and leave it at that.

Lou should not be a public speaker anywhere. Just a horrible voice.

I'd rather listen to him speak than Mark May. May's voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. Add to that his nonsensical arguments and it becomes difficult to keep from V-Chipping ESPN off my channel list.

Hmm.

Wisky has snuck back into this.

USC wins tonight over ND, and we move up to #5- with thanks to South Fla.

UCLA beats USC next week, and Arkansas beats Fla in the SEC Championship game, and....

Wisky goes to #3 and qualifies for the BCS, as the 3rd team from the Power Conferences has to be #3 to qualify. It is still a longshot, but one can hope.

Lou Holtz's arguments are WAY more nonsensical than May's are. Lou Holtz just says that South Carolina and Notre Dame are going to win and that's it. May at least provides realistic arguments (whether or not they are correct) and provides adequate logic and reasoning as to why he's arguing that side. Holtz doesn't.

Like I said in my original post, I don't like May too much either but May is, by far, the lesser of two evils.

Wisconsin isn't going to a BCS bowl. There is no chance.

BCS rules[/url]"]5. If any of the 10 slots remain open after application of provisions 1 through 4, and an at-large team from a conference with an annual automatic berth for its champion is ranked No. 3 in the final BCS Standings, that team will become an automatic qualifier, provided that no at-large team from the same conference qualifies for the national championship game.

Michigan is an at large from the same conference and qualified for the title game.

The ACC is the worst of the six major conferences this year and it's not even close and Boise State is more deserving of a BCS bowl than the ACC champion.

I would agree with that completely. Wake, Maryland, Georgia Tech-not exactly any power teams left to go to a BCS bowl. They are all good, but none of them are great-Boise State at least has the chance to be great, although they are completely unproven.

That is a stupid rule then, and has no place for being in existence.

If the 1 and 2 teams are supposed to play, of course it would be an at large team from the same conf. for the Title game.

Why even have this rule?

The automatic qualifier from the third spot doesn't have to be a third team from a conference-it could only be the second team from that conference. That provision is intended specifically to keep a third team from one conference out.

Ok, then why not just say that then beat around the bush?

Our kicker has missed 5 extra points today - one of which was blocked and returned for 2 points by San Diego - meaning that our incompetant kicker has cost us 7 points today. I could understand one or two, especially since one was blocked, but 5? You have to try to miss 5 extra points.

I think because they wanted to exclude the possibility of the bowls picking another team from that conference. Let's say Wisconsin had lost to Ohio State and didn't play Michigan instead of the opposite. Michigan finishes 3rd in the BCS, and Wisconsin finishes 5th. The BCS bowls might be inclined to pick Wisconsin over Michigan-this rule says you cannot do that-in that case the team in 3rd would automatically qualify. Only if the 2nd team is one of the top 2 does the team in 3rd not automatically qualify, and that's what they were trying to say.
