AP[/url]"]NEW YORK -- Goodbye, Shea Stadium; hello, CitiField. The Mets and Citigroup Inc. have agreed on a 20-year sponsorship deal for the team's new ballpark that is worth more than an average of $20 million annually and includes stadium naming rights, a baseball official said Saturday. The source spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the deal will not be announced until Monday at the formal groundbreaking.

Let the intentional mispronunciation begin.

Wasn't Wrigley Field one of the first fields to be named after a corporation?

Speaking of Wrigley, Babe Ruth said, "I'd pay half my salary if I could bat in this dump all the time."

Wasn't Yankee Stadium a haven for left handed power hitters?

Offhand, I'm not sure how it compared to the rest of the league, but it was definitely much friendlier to left-handed power than it was to right-handed power.

It was named for William Wrigley.

At least the parking isn't citi as it's one of the easiest stadiums to find a parking place.

It's going to suck the next few years.

But it is one of the easiest places to get to by transit. Park by Penn Station and take the LIRR out.

Park a car by Penn Station? No thanks. I'll just walk downstairs and take the E to the 7.

Right...well, its easier for us swamp rats that way.

However, I think people that drive to Shea are crazy. Rush hours, airport traffic, general NYC nutty traffic patterns...when its so accesible by train...

Seriously though, you drive into the city and park by Penn Station? Why not just drive to a Jersey train station and take 2 trains? I live in Jersey, but I usually only go to Shea on weekday nights, after working in Manhattan.
