It stands! 24-17 Pitt with about 3:00 to go.

I loved how he faked like he was throwing downfield to set up that monster block. And the great balancing act to stay inbounds. What a punt return.

If WVU loses this game, any chance Rutgers has of making the title game goes out the window.

And that's a shame.

While driving home today I was listening to Mac, jurko and Harry hoping to hear some good Aardsma for Cotts stuff. Instead they were talking Michigan and Ohio St. Anyway Mac at one point said that Michigan creamed Notre Dame. So a few minutes later a Notre Dame fan called in to take offense to Mac saying it was a creaming. It really was some of the funniest radio I have heard in a long time. I dont mean this to be an attack on Notre Dame because I surely know some dumb fans of almost every team. What I thought was really funny was that this guy took time to call in and call Mac a moron for saying that Michigan creamed Notre Dame. I mean how much time he has had to waste over the last 2 months justifying his arguement that Michigan didnt cream Notre Dame and then to call a radio show and call someone else stupid for suggesting it.

At the end of the conversation I reminded myself why I dont listen to a whole lot of any Talk Radio. This was really funny stuff though.

Haha, that's really quite pathetic. And considering all the talk radio hosts over the last 10 months falsely calling the Fiesta Bowl of last year a "beatdown" even though the game was in doubt until the very end, you'd think this guy would at least call in to one of THOSE shows, rather than worry about a game that was pretty much over in the 2nd quarter.

What would you call last years OSU/ND game then if it wasn't a beat down? 617-348 total yards including a 275-62 rushing advantage. Troy Smith threw for over 300 yards and Pittman ran for over 100. Plus OSU turned the ball over twice and ND didn't at all. One of those turnovers was a Troy Smith fumble at the ND 9 yard line. The score of that game should have been much worse than it was. At the least it should be called a very convincing victory.

Michigan outgained Ball State 507-297 on Nov. 4th and won the game by 8, and were 2 yards away from a possible tie game. Is that a beatdown?

I could care less about any statistic other than the score when it comes to a football game. Could've would've should've means about as much in football as it does in any other sport - bupkus.

So a game that ends with one team winning by three touchdowns but was back and forth the whole game - like no team led by more than 7 until late in the fourth quarter - would be considered a beatdown?

You can't look at just the score when determining how dominant one team was in a game because one statistic does not tell you the whole story.

Of course the score doesn't tell the whole story. But you simply cannot call a game that was in doubt until 2 minutes were remaining a beatdown (which, if I'm not mistaken, is the exact same point you are making), no matter what the stats say. You can say one team outplayed another, and clearly OSU outplayed ND in this case. You can even say they did it by a fairly wide margin. But if they weren't good enough to avoid turning the ball over twice and close out those drives, then you can't say they "beat down" their opponent.

whatever you call that game, those stats do tell you something about the quality of the teams. probably more than the final score.

Oh man, I cannot believe ESPN has a countdown in their ticker for the Michigan-Ohio State game.

They've had that during Big Ten football games for at least the past three weeks.

Oh my.

Tell me about it. I first noticed it during the Northwestern/Michigan game.

I have yet to see it during a Big Ten game.

If Northwestern hangs onto the ball, that won't lose.

WARNING -- NOT SUITABLE FOR ALL AGES. WATCH/LISTEN WITH CAUTION.

I have been to two Michigan games this year, when they played ND and Ball State respectively. In both games, I have told the people I am with that you can count on Chad Henne throwing one indescribably bad pass per game.

Henne has thrown an indescribably bad pass for an interception within 3 plays of me saying that each time.

Say I was just over at espn.com - did anyone know that Michigan is playing Ohio State this weekend?

I have been a little worn out by the hype also. Someone did remind me though that the winner of this game will definately go to the National Championship game which really doesnt happen as ofter as you would think. So you could almost consider it on the same level as the AFC or NFC Championship game from the NFL.

I noticed in the Henne video about 75% of the plays came from the Michigan/OSU game from when Henne was a true freshman.

You guys have no idea how big the hype is for OSU Michigan unless you live in Ohio/Michigan right now. This is the biggest buildup for any sporting event ever in this state. This is bigger than all superbowls combined.

I don't even care that much about OSU or college football, but I can't helped but be totally pumped for the game tomorrow. It's contagious. I'm going to a sports bar to soak in the atmosphere tomorrow.

It's going to be splendid. And go Buckeyes!!
