I love the polls. Two weeks ago Louisville crushed WV and now they're behind them in the polls.

I'm not surprised or annoyed that Arkansas jumped ND in the AP poll. At least they have a legitimate reason unlike the last two weeks of teams that don't play jumping the Irish.

At least this one has Rutgers over WVU but they have Louisville behind WVU. Plus, Arkansas over Notre Dame. I LOVE IT!!

Does the AP poll even mean anything at this point in the season? It doesn't even apply to the BCS.

With each team playing gimmes next week before finishing with good teams, I think ND might have enough to hold off Arkansas. Unless they struggle with Army while Arkansas blows out Mississippi St., I can't see Arkansas picking up any votes on ND over the next 2 weeks should both win out. With the difference being 25 votes(likely more with a win at USC compared to a home win against LSU), I think ND has a reasonable chance of not getting passed by them with the SEC title game.

Rutgers at #3. Arkansas ahead of Florida. West Virginia still ahead of Louisville--I can't figure out what the thinking is behind that. Maybe it's Louisville's closer games against weak teams? But Louisville still beat West Virginia, and their loss was to the team that the same poll ranks #3. Huh?

I like that poll the most besides the WVU-Louisiville snafu. I also don't understand how WVU can be ranked ahead of Louisville when Louisville just beat them a little more than a week ago. Are these pollsters really this stupid?

Lou called ND the surest bet to finish 11-1 among the 1 loss teams.

Wisconsin is presently 10-1 and is playing Buffalo in their final game.

And people, PLEASE STOP VOTING FOR GEORGIA

Posted
The ESPN poll is just a poll where users rank the teams themselves, therefore it's ever changing. Especially in the early going. ND has since fallen down to 7, Florida jumped up to 4. West Virginia still for some reaosn ahead of Louisville.

Hahahahahaha.

Other than Wisco though, I do think ND is the best bet. USC will be very tough especially in the Coliseum, but they haven't looked all that scary since the opening game. Plus Charlie has effectively had since the UCLA game to gameplan for USC since ND hasn't really played anyone since then.

Man, that Oregon "loss" is killing us. We just cannot move up at all.

The way the polls work, you'd probably be around 6 or 7 right now. It'll probably take a Texas loss next week(and subsequent OU title game win) just to get OU in the top 10 by the end of the year. Making things worse is that Oregon has gone in the tank since that game making the "loss" look worse.

If it helps, I don't think there'd be enough of a perfect storm to put OU in the title game in that situation.

Yeah, OK is, to me, the scariest team not being talked about. They're a legitimately very good team that should be talked about with the rest of the one-loss teams.

Even better is that there are people in the program saying that AD is 50% for the Baylor game next week, and 100% for the OSU game to end the year.

At the least, he should be here for the Bowl Game, wherever it is, and for the Big XII championship, should A&M pull off the unlikely upset next week.

Neat for the fact that it actually ranks past the top 25. Has its share of oddballities.

If you are Wisconsin you have to be really upset that you didnt play OSU this year. If they lose that game they are going to the same Bowl as if they didnt play them. If they could have upset them they would be going to a BCS bowl.

Is it possible for the Big Ten to get 3 BCS teams?

For some reason I am thinking that a Michigan/OSU rematch may be coming. Just a funny feeling I have been having for a couple of weeks now.

IMO Wisconsin would be the leading candidate to play UM in a rematch if they'd beaten OSU.

No conference can have more than 2. Poor Wisconsin is headed to whatever the highest non-BCS Big Ten bowl is.

The Capital One bowl is the best of the Non-BCS games. Wiscy will be happy.

You mentioned the SEC title game which would give Arkansas two potential quality victories down the stretch compared to Notre Dame's one. Arkansas has a very legitimate chance of passing Notre Dame if both win out.

so I'm looking at the BCS standings and discussing how silly the BCS is on various threads and realize this incredibly frustrating situation. despite having only one loss on the season and having four teams ahead of them lose in week 12, my team, the Wisconsin Badgers, will not move one iota. they will more than likely remain 15 with the four teams that lost today #'s 11-14.

boy was I wrong.

not only am I p'd about not getting OSU this year, the terrible officiating in the UM game is looming larger and larger.

Penn State #32? I'll take it. They don't face Iowa this year, so not sure how they break a tie for 4th place in the Big10.

How is Temple not #119? Because they won a game I guess. They are #117, ahead of only Duke and FIU

I honestly don't think your good enough to be a national title contender, but then again I think you guys have played well enough to deserve a chance to prove that you are. With the Big 10 being as down as it is, you pretty much needed to win all your games to be considered for the title.

What are Florida's claims to fame? They lost to a 2 loss Auburn and beat a 3 loss Tennesse and 2 loss LSU.

All of which would likely beat all the top three Big East teams pretty easily (maybe Auburn wouldn't since they're so inconsistent).

Seriously, man, I like the Big East too, but you're getting a tad carried away.

That's funny because I look at the polls and don't see any teams that ND beat that even got a vote. Maybe it's you that's getting carried away because I seem to be using facts and your using assumptions.

it's tough to tell, but in all honesty, I don't think they are either. then again, I don't think Florida is but look where they are sitting. they were outplaying UM until an avalanche of terrible calls completely turned the tide and the score of the game around and gave UM all the momentum. they win that game and they are undefeated and probably sitting right where UM is now, regardelss of how good they are.
