can anyone stop the Hogs?

http://graphics.fansonly.com/photos/schools/usc/sports/auto_action/usc-logo.jpg

that, they did. . . . however, it wasn't the same Hog team. McFadden was 50% and we had a crappy QB. I'd love to see a USC / Arkansas rematch.

It's still hard to argue with a 50-14 beatdown at home. Plus, McFadden and the QB don't play defense.

Honestly, I think without that ass kicking, the Hogs don't go on and play as well as they have. They were overconfident that day and USC gave them a big ol' wake up call.

I'm not bellyaching, I'm asking a question. Although I can accept that there's less of a chance of poll drops for close games late in the season.

However, my point stands that Florida and ND have had pretty similar seasons.

BTW, I know this seems weird, but I'm reporting on this game. San Jose State has taken over the lead over Boise State 13-12 late in the third. Why is this important? If Boise State loses, one extra BCS at-large spot opens up-so those teams just outside the NC picture still could use that extra spot.

Wisconsin should move way up, too.

Arkansas has the same argument as the rest of the 1 loss teams. They've played better and better each week and have a couple good wins.

If they're able to run the table (W's over Tenn, LSU, Florida) a National Title berth wouldn't be out of the question or unwarranted.

hehe. I ranted at you because I was p'd the Hogs leapfrogged my Badgers. now I come back to see you defending them, so I feel bad.

still, should have losts should be considered when these guys vote.

When did Arkansas leapfrog Wisconsin? Wisconsin wasn't ranked until Week 7 which was when Arkansas leaped into the rankings with the victory at Auburn.

ETA: Also how do you define a should-have-lost game? How many points down do you have to come back from with how much time left?

well, if we put another one in the endzone here, it's over.

The Hogs are hot! And to think, I turned down tix to this one. I'm heading to Starkville next week and will also be seeing the Ark / LSU game in two weeks.

It's a good time to be a Hog fan :D

Week 7 saw the Hogs go from unranked to 17th. Wisconsin broke the top 25 that same week.

Yes, that's what I said. I still don't see how somebody could be mad about that when one team beat the team that was #2 in the nation at that time.

Last week, the Hogs were ripping SC a new one then shot themselves in the foot in the 2nd half --- still moved the ball at will, but turned the ball over.

Wow. . . 28-7. .. . . .I'm salivating.

I guess I was mistaken about that too and was thinking about LSU.

maybe I was just more exressing anger about the SEC in general.

I guess I define should have losts the same way that Supreme Court nominee defined porn. I can't do it, but I know when I see one. I don't want to pick up someone else's argument. I haven't seen any of Arkansas's games. but ND at MSU this year was a should have lost. USC at ND last year was a should have lost. the Bears v. the Cardinals a few weeks ago was a should have lost.

I guess when you have your ass handed to you but still win the game, that's a should have lost.

technically, Arkansas should have lost to Vandy and Alabama, but they didn't. When it got down to the nut cutting, they did (barely) what was needed to Win. It can be seen as a positive or as a negative, that's for sure.

I've been most impressed with Arkansas getting better with each passing week.

LSU's offense looks really good. I don't know how goo Alabama is, but LSU is making them look like Memphis.

LSU is to Alabama as Arkansas is to Tennessee, so far.

No further comment, but Miami is playing Florida International today in basketball.

Haha.

Umm, apparently UCLA actually has an offense. Second TD pass to Marcus Everett makes it 19-7 (failed 2-pt conversion). We might win today!!

In the midst of talking about what beasts Jones and McFadden are, I keep neglecting to mention what a beast Marcus Monk is. Let's get him out of the game, though, and rest those sore ribs if the Hogs score again here.

Boise State now has the ball and needs to go only about 40 yards in 2 minutes to get into FG range and beat SJSU.
