Iowa @ Michigan is proably the last major hurdle keeping OSU and Michigan from meeting as undefeated teams. Iowa always plays UM tough.

Oh it is, no probably about that. And im not going to classify the Iowa/UM game a mismatch, Iowa does play UM very tough.

I remember in 1997, they probably came the closest to beating us (You could argue that ND, OSU, or WSU came closer, but I think Iowa did). I remember being down I think 21-7 at halftime after a Tim Dwight runback and wanting to cry. Thankfully Michigan pulled it off by shutting them down in the second half.

I don't think IU has a chance to beat O$U, but I wouldn't classify it as a mismatch, either. They just beat a ranked (at the time) team and have some offensive firepower. It may be closer than people expect.

My general rule is that if there is no way I can rationally envision the unranked team winning, it's a mismatch, and I cannot in any way imagine IU managing to pull that one off, or stay within 17 for that matter.

I dont see this being close either. Iowa was pickign IU defense apart through the air. OSU shouldnt have a problem there. IU Qb was 19 25 255 and 3tds. He aint gonna do that against OSU's passing defense, that is OSU's strength on D.

There's no way that Indiana keeps this game close. Ohio State is just too good. There's really only a handful of teams that can probably play with Ohio State.

This sucks. Mizzou's biggest home game of the year against Oklahoma (yes I know theyre down and Peterson isn't playing but still) is scheduled for 11 A.M. It is a national game but still. I know Missouri isn't a great football school, but I have one year left to experience a conference night game at Mizzou. This blows.

No joke. What are they going to put in the primetime slot? Miami-GT? What a shame.

EDIT: Now it looks like regional coverage. Washington St.-UCLA and Tennessee-South Carolina. Is the Big 12 going to get a prime time game this year?

I want Mizzou to KILL everyone they face...makes Ole Miss' crappy season look just a tad bit better.

btw, I heard Steve Young (I think) compare Chase to a young Drew Brees.

That's right, while Mizzou went to Texas Tech while both were ranked and played on TBS. ABC can't do anything right.

The best thing about the O$U-scUM game this year is that one team is guaranteed to lose and not play for the national championship. The other will win and will have me rooting against it in the Fiesta Bowl.

Fiesta isn't the national title game...their site is just where it is. There's a separate game.

Right, it's Jan. 8th at the new Arizona stadium.

As a fan of a Big Ten team that is not OSU or Michigan and has already been beaten by both teams, I hope they do go on to be undefeated. I hope one of them wins the National Championship and the other ends up #2 after winning the Rose Bowl or whatever BCS bowl they go to. I have a hard time with fans of Penn St thinking that their school is somehow superior in some sort of way to these 2. I understand disliking them because they beat you every year, But to think that Penn St is somehow above some of the stuff that goes on at Ann Arbor or Columbus is silly.

I was talking to some guys at work today and someone brought up a couple of possibitities for the Championship game. What if OSU beats Michigan and everything falls in place for ND to play OSU in the championship game or what if Michigan beats OSU and everything falls in place for Texas to play Michigan in the championship game. I guess what I am saying is it possible for ND to pass a 1 loss Michigan team or Texas to pass a one loss OSU team. Of course this is all contigent on both Michigan and OSU going undefeated until there game and probably USC beating Cal and ND beating USC. Lousiville, West Virginia and Rutgers would have to split there games with each other and somehow both Auburn and Florida lose.

If Michigan was to lose like 21-20 at OSU would it be possible for them to stay ahead of some of the other 1 loss teams besides ND and have a rematch for the National Title.

I know it seems like every year at this time there is talk of the BCS being screwed up, but it would be screwed up if ND went past a 1 loss Michigan team or Texas went past a 1 loss OSU team.

I think whoever loses the Michigan/OSU matchup drops to 3rd or 4th, no matter the final score. Personally, I would like to see a really close game on the 18th, then a rematch in the NC game, but the BCS would NEVER allow that

I really think it is a legitimate statement that they are the best 2 teams. Isnt the goal of the BCS to get the best 2 teams in the championship game.

I know that isnt really true but just a thought

Not me unless Michigan loses. Really i dont think i could handle 2 of these games, especially one for the title. I would rather lose to Miami than OSU for the title and i hate Miami, i dont really hate OSU. They piss me off, but i dont hate em.

NUN laid out a possiblity but an incredible amount of situations would have to fall in place for it to occur. The world as i know it would collide.

Computers supposedly eliminate the penalty for losing late. They also don't seem to like Texas, so I don't believe they'd pass OSU. The computers seem to love ND so I could them passing UM. I think it goes without saying that 11-1 ND or Texas teams would wind up ahead of 11-1 Michigan or OSU teams in the polls. Which is ridiculous.

This is all pointless though, they should just award the title to the winner of the SEC title game. Then fill in spots 2-12 in the polls according to SEC standings.

why? there won't be any undefeated teams in the SEC. If the Big 10 gets bashed year in and year out for beating up on each other, then the SEC should too

SSR hates the SEC love around here, methinks. Him and Cuse have gotten rather sick of it lately :P
