I'm hoping for a big time smackdown of K-State this weekend, and all the pieces are there for it. Angry coming off a close loss, home game, homecoming at that, playing against a subpar KSU team that Mizzou hasn't beaten in 13 years.

Penn State can beat the Illini, even with their 3rd string QB (no word on how healthy Morelli or Clark are yet).

Can I just state for the record that a little part of me dies every time JoePa calls a "run up the middle" play. Guess what, it didn't work the first 20 times, so when you're down by 14, maybe try mixing it up a little, mkay?

Hopefully they take out 13 years of frustration on them. What do you think attendance will be? I'm hoping mid-60,000.

Nothing better for NIU than to face Temple after a craptacular performance against WMU yesterday. If Wolfe played the whole game, he probably could get 400 yards against Temple. Who knows, he may get to play the whole game as long as Horvath is throwing INT's left and right like he did yesterday.

SIU with a big game against Western Kentucky on Saturday night. A win against a solid top 25 team would be nice and would definitely ease the pain of the loss against Illinois State. I think we should finish the season 9-2, definitely giving us a berth to the I-AA playoffs.

What? No way! I'VE BEEN TOLD THAT A COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF WOULDN'T WORK. STOP LYING!

Top 25 mismatches

UCLA at (10) Notre Dame (2:30 pm, NBC)

Boo.

I will be so happy if UCLA can knock Brady Quinn on his candy ass next week.

Iowa @ Michigan is proably the last major hurdle keeping OSU and Michigan from meeting as undefeated teams. Iowa always plays UM tough.

That's right. It has nothing to do with the fact that no one would pay $150 a ticket to see New Hampsire vs. Youngstown St. in the Orange Bowl or anything

Bah, UNH lost to James Madison yesterday, they haven't looked nearly as impressive as they did against Northwestern for the last 3-4 weeks.

Auburn and Florida fans should be happy.

Texas fans. Not so much. I will say this about Texas, except for OSU and OU they really havent played anyone though.

Oh it is, no probably about that. And im not going to classify the Iowa/UM game a mismatch, Iowa does play UM very tough.

I thought that Michigans last chance to lose was last night(I mean before the OSU game). Iowa just doesnt have the talent to play with Michigan and Michigan doesnt seem to be dumbing there way down to opponents this year. I have watched Michigan play 3 times this year now and noticed that they never seem to let an opponent break a tackle. Is this poor perception on my part? I am sure that they have had some broken tackles but this was a problem with Michigan in the past and they seem to really have cleaned it up this year. If they can tackle Troy Smith without letting him get out I think they will handle OSU pretty easily. The last couple of years against OSU Troy Smiths moving out of the pocket and running ability has beaten Michigan more than anything else.

Aside from a couple SEC teams, there's no team in the country that has really played anyone if you take away their 2 toughest games, especially with nearly half the season to go.

There's a big difference between the rest of the teams for Texas and other teams rest of the teams. Let's take 2 non SEC teams that are the closest to Texas (ND and California)

ND: 2 toughest games: Georgia Tech, Michigan

Rest of Games: Penn State, Michigan State, Purdue, Stanford

Texas: 2 toughest games: OSU, Oklahoma

Rest of Games: North Texas, Rice, Iowa State, Sam Houston State, Baylor

California: 2 toughest games: Tennessee, Oregon

Rest of Games: Minnesota, Portland State, Arizona State, Oregon State, Washington State

Texas has had 4 teams so far that are terrible-North Texas, Rice, Sam Houston State, Baylor

ND has one: Stanford (Michigan State still gets rewarded in the computers since 3 of their 4 losses were to top 10 teams)

California has one-Portland State

That's the difference-Texas's terrible games really drive down their SOS at this point in the season.

I don't think IU has a chance to beat O$U, but I wouldn't classify it as a mismatch, either. They just beat a ranked (at the time) team and have some offensive firepower. It may be closer than people expect.
