Still better than Sweet Lou.

That's like asking whether you want to be deaf or blind. Neither option has any real benefits.

Does this mean Rudy Jaramillo might be willing to move?

I think Jaramillo will be staying. Some have rumored he could be in line for the manager's job.

Saying all that, I'd love it if we could get Jaramillo to be the hitting coach here.

I can see the headlines now:

Baker signs with the Rangers

Wood signs with the Rangers

Prior traded to the Rangers

First two spring training games, Wood taken out with a sore arm after throwing 240 pitches and Prior removed with stiffness in his elbow after throwing 197 pitches. Both players are day to day.

He talked at a clinic in Jersey last winter and my friends said he was quite the character. He butted heads with Baylock all year.

Jarmillo from USA Today...

"We're aggressive. We're here to attack the ball. We're not here to work a walk," Jaramillo says. "Obviously we want to swing at strikes. If that walk comes our way, we'll take it. But that's not our mentality."

Ok. So how is that any different from Dusty and his buddies.

There was a lot of turnover before the '03 season with managers. Some with proven track records, and others new to the job. Every manager hired before '03 with experience is since gone from the job he was hired for. (Showalter, Baker, Howe, Piniella, Alou) The survivors are Eric Wedge, Clint Hurdle, Ned Yost, and Ken Macha.(Bob Melvin still has a managing job but is with a new team going from Seattle to AZ from '04-'05)

1. Did anybody, anywhere see this coming?

2. LEARN FROM THIS JIM.

*After reviewing Baseballreference(UPDATED~!), I see Hurdle managed half of '02, but IIRC, he wasn't given the full managing gig til the offseason before '03.
