I miss caring about the Cubs and caring about various Cubs rehab status. Apologies if this is posted elsewhere

Mark Prior (shoulder) threw in the outfield on Tuesday for the second straight day.

Prior is expected to toss of a mound soon. It is doubtful he will pitch in a game before the end of this season.

Here's a thought: Send Prior to the AFL to get sharp ahead of ST..

Mark Prior. Who's he?

Who cares?

Agreed! This guy couldn't fight his way out of a paper bag. Forget him and his hyped up talent! I would rather see Mateo or O'Malley take his spot in the rotation next year!

yeah who cares about the guy who is essentially our only hope for a competitive team

Even if we can sign a big FA pitcher and hitter, we probably still have 2 weak spots in the lineup, and without a healthy effectve Prior we have 3 rookie/young pitchers, who have potential, but are no guarantee to contribute enough towards a competative team.

We can not count on is health, but we sure better hope for it.

I'm not saying there is hope but if there is I would say:

Zambrano continuing his dominance

Rich Hill continuing to build on his success.

D. Lee returing at an MVP level.

Aram returing and continuing his production

20+ million in FA cash

Dusty Baker leaving

Hendry pulling his head of of his rear end.

are the "hopes" at fielding a competitive team.

I'll eat SO MUCH CROW if Mark Prior pictches atleast 150 innings and has a sub 3.0 ERA next year.

How about a picture of you eating your own socks?

I think DLee and Ramirez (should he be back) will be just as or more important to next year's team than Prior, even if he's healthy.

Petition to ban naming one guy our only hope for fielding a competitve team.

Like it or not, a healthy Prior is the key to getting to the postseason and advancing.

Without him, we'll have to sign one of either Zito or Schmidt to have a legit top of the rotation. And while that's possible, the bidding will be high and fierce, and even if Hendry tries, we could get "Furcaled".

Prior's the key. He's in-house, cheap, and when right, one of the best.

Of course, the offense will need to be improved, too.

Yeah I'll do that.

I hope y'all like crow.

I am one that will stay in Prior's corner. I still believe Prior will become the best pitcher of his generation (I know, I know), after he battles through his early career adversity. I know people are going to say I am overly optimistic about Prior, but I still hold out hope to seeing a dominate one-two punch of Z and Prior.
