Not that I care, but no more than 4 runs can score the rest of the game, and the Reds have to win.

I have much better luck betting on the stock market. When I bet against the CUBS, the sob's win !!!

By the way has anyone seen Little Miss Sunshine?

Yes, I took the wife for a night on the town, dinner and movie. We laughed out loud on many occasions. She mentioned that at one time or another I had passed through most of the life stages portrayed in the movie. I would suggest you see it, but I'd leave the kids at home.

Why? Is the language in it pretty bad?

yeah. it's probably pg-13 content-wise, but the language is R.

Someone please help me with this one....how can Felix Pie not be playing when this team is so absolutely horrible? I would much rather see our top prospect as I would some of the no-names who now are playing at Wrigley.

Because he'd either be riding the pine or taking advice from Dusty on how to swing away at every pitch.

Can't stop Pierre's streak, dude. He's saved us the last few months.

This is more like it.

Come on, guys. Only 10 more losses to make 100 for the year! I know you can do it!

Minor nitpick, but they need 11 losses.

Going 3-11 the rest of the way is entirely possible at this point, though.

Smart-butt answer aside, the reason why Pie wasn't called up is because he "isn't ready". That is the easiest answer. I know the Cubs got kids like Jose Reyes, but Pie is too important to rush. The decision not to call up Pie was the RIGHT call, regardless of fans wanted to see a "top prospect" playing at the major league level. The Cubs can't afford another Patterson mistake.

That, IMO, is the reason why Pie wasn't call up.

There's nothing wrong with a top (young) prospect being called up to play the last month of a lost season. IF the coaches were good ones. Letting Pie know just to play and don't worry about results, and teach him correctly how to deal with whatever happens. However this is the Cubs and their coaches are horrible. So in this case, yes it was right not to call him up. .

Maybe it's a sign Hendry was wised up a little and doesn't want their top prospect getting tainted by the guys he knows are gone as soon as this season is over.

On the bright side, I have been impressed especially with the bullpen, for the most part, the last few days. Aardsma, Wuertz, Ryu and even Walrond have stepped it up along with Howry and Eyre and Ohman to deal with the starters not making it for the long haul.

Pie also needed the break. He played winter ball in the Dominican and likely worked his rear off attempting to come back 100% from his injury last year. Giving him more time off will help him come back next season fully healthy, refreshed, and ready to go, imo.

I have no problem with Felix taking the time off and not getting the call - he really needs to work on some things. Too bad the Cubs think one of the things he needs to work on in Mesa is his bunting. (At least they do think he needs to work on his patience and base stealing!)

I too, have no problem with Pie not being called up, in fact, I'm glad he'll be no near Dusty and his rookies learn by watching, etc. nonsense.
