I think it'd be a PR travesty if they didn't schedule OU for a night game. They already screwed up by schedule Kansas at 11 am, the Saturday during Thanksgiving break.

I gotta think that they scheduled the kU game so early cause they didn't want to give fans a longer time to tailgate (i.e. get wasted). Not that 11 doesn't give you enough time to get plenty of beers in you.

They did it so they could be on National TV.

Yeah, that might have been another reason. But it's not like 11AM games are the only ones that are televised.

kU wasn't originally supposed to be Thanksgiving weekend though. They moved it there for the TV, so they're going to accomodate ABC with the time too.

EDIT: Link

Same thing next year too, although obviously the time isn't set.

11 am games suck balls especially when you are a big tailgating school like Ole Miss.

I never let an early start stop me from enjoying tailgating!

Well I guess I can be thankful that Mizzou plays at kU during Thanksgiving weekend my senior year, saves me a trip to Lawrence.

The season is now officially underway, BTW. BC leads Cent. Michigan 3-0 in the 1st quarter. BSU in an hour (I have to run audio board for the first half so I'm stuck in the studio).

I parlayed BSU at -5 1/2 and the under at 52. Hopefully it keeps raining.

PSU fans, will they cover with Akron, at -17? I am very tempted to take Akron in this, but I am not sure why.

There's too many question marks on the PSu team, where you don't know which way they'll go. If pressed, I'd take Akron to cover, but frankly, I'd stay the hell away from it altogether.

It is 10-7 EMU now, and Ball State is having some real problems stopping Tyler Jones of EMU (no sign of the 2nd QB in the tandem and with good reason).

HOLY HELL, NATE DAVIS.

The freshman QB, on his first series, gets a pass back from Dante Love, throws a perfect 55 YARD strike to Louis Johnson to put BSU up 14-10. :D

I'm definitely going to come back on Friday this year so I can get to the kU game, but I'm definitely greatful that I won't have to go to Lawrence again since I'll be at home next year.

Don't bother going to Manhattan for a K-State game either. I did that a couple years ago, and man that place sucks. The stadium is pretty lame, you can't drink in the parking lot, and the town in general pretty much blows.

Gah, as usual a college football thread turns into a huge Notre Dame thread. Anyways, I cannot wait for the first SEC games of the year. I love watching SEC games anytime.

SEC games are the best to watch, though I love most all the college football games.

If the SEC and Big Ten didnt play at the same time id watch more SEC games. I cant stand to watch the pac 10 on saturday night. The SEC saturday night games are usually pretty damn good so ill catch a couple of those games. Its about time the Big Ten adopted some saturday night football this year.

I am looking forward to seeing what the Big House looks like after the renovation. Its about time they updated it.

There's nothing like a primetime SEC matchup on a Saturday night, Florida/Tennessee, LSU/Auburn, etc. Nothing better. :D

Lets not forget SC/GA next Saturday. Back to back national TV appearances to open the season sounds good to me.

Can't disagree with that. Almost any game in the SEC is better than watching the Pac 10, Big East, or even the Big 12, for that matter.

Big 10 then SEC. I would put those 2 above any other conference, in that order.

Are you drunk? ;) Its the SEC and then everyone else, though this year the Big Ten is a solid second.

I have to say I agree, although I typically enjoy Big Ten games more just because I live in the Midwest.

I was referring to watching, not talent.

Man, there's nothing like the passion and desire of an SEC game. Right now I'm watching South Carolina/Miss St and the feel of the game is just so much better than any other conference I've watched. Gosh, I can't wait for Saturday at 5:30 when over 100,000 people will be going crazy in Neyland. =P~ It's why I love college football. :D

NAU up on ASU 14-7.

Now 14-14 at halftime.

Toledo and Iowa State in triple OT, 37-37!

BSU ended up winning 38-20. Nate Davis is officially a freshman phenom, going 7/8 with 108 yards and 3 scores. It must be really hard for Hoke not to play him exclusively over Lynch. Joey's good, but Davis is an amazing talent at this level.

Iowa State wins 45-43 in triple OT when Toledo can't convert their two-pointer.

Wow.

Supposedly Toledo's wideout dropped a wide open pass in the end zone, which would've tied it. Tough break for the Rockets.

It wasn't really wide open. Well he was open but the QB had to throw the ball off his back foot so he got too much air under it. The safety arrived at the same time as the ball to break it up. That tight end who they threw to had something like 13 catches for 140 yards on the night too.

Stupid Iowa State.
