I refuse to look. I am still haunted by the memory of Henrik Larrson's broken leg.

This one's worse to look at than Larsson's injury. This guy's leg literally folds double. He won't be able to play for at least a year. He broke both his shin and his calf bones, and tore open his skin.

Apparently the reason Mikey B wasn't on the gameday roster this past weekend is because he flipped out on his coach when he was told he wouldn't start in order to give him a rest.

Edgar Castillo has filed with FIFA to switch to the US from Mexico. Whats the word on him, I know nothing about him.

Natural left back, has some friendly caps for Mexico, made a big move to Club America and struggled but has rebounded nicely on loan at Tigres. He's back with his coach from Santos, where he was noticed for El Tri. Natural left footer, gets forward, can get into the attack but needs to work on defending and gain some strength. Will probably be in Europe at some point. Better than any natural left back we've got at the moment, but it remains to be seen how he'll work in Bradley's system. I'm skeptical.

Btw, Jermaine Jones is back in training. His paperwork still has yet to be processed by FIFA, but it should happen in time for the October q games.

Castillo might be nice depth but he's not starter material.

I wonder how Seth feels about Ranieri taking over Roma.

I wish they would've just done it during the offseason. It was obvious that Spalletti was unhappy with the transfers.

I don't mind Ranieri. I'm tired of watching the defense get shredded, so if this helps I'm all for it.

FIFA have banned Chelsea from registering players for the enxt two transfer windows, meaning they will not be able to make any new signings until January 2011, after being found guilty of inducing French teenager Gael Kakuta to breach his contract with Lens.

The 18-year-old winger joined Chelsea from the Ligue 1 side in 2007, after which the French club lodged a complaint with world football's governing body.

FIFA's Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC) finally passed their decision on the contractual dispute on Thursday and handed down a hefty ban and substantial fine to the Blues.

A statement from FIFA read: "The DRC found that the player had indeed breached a contract signed with the French club. Equally, the DRC deemed it to be established that the English club induced the player to such a breach.

"As a result the player was condemned to pay compensation in the amount of €780,000, for which the club, Chelsea, are jointly and severally liable.

Harsh.

I'm not sure if anyone listens to World Soccer Daily, but I download their podcasts from time to time. The show went off the air today because of threats against Steven Cohen's family for his comments about the Hillsborough disaster and the Liverpool supporters. I'm not crazy about Cohen, especially not his stupid comments about Hillsborough, but I'm pissed the show is gone. As we all know there's a gap in media coverage of soccer in America and I thought the show did a nice job of providing a perspective to an American audience. Apparently, he made the comments about 5 months ago and some American Liverpool supporters have been trying to get sponsors to drop and get Sirius to take them off the air. Something has happened within the last 2 days and Cohen decided to pull the plug on the show because of the threats. Very bizarre story.

I dont know all the circumstances, but it seems like he may be using the threats as an excuse. He had already been replaced on FSC by Wynalda, and he had already lost a lot of sponsors. To the point that he was trying to get funds from some of his listeners. If I had to guess I would say he could not find any sponsors and had no more money and that is why his show is going off the air.

I listen pretty much every day and I think reggie's got it. Unfortunately I really liked the show and there wasn't anything else like it out there in terms of a daily, good soccer show. This sucks. I downloaded today's podcast but haven't listened to it yet.

wolf, what soccer podcasts are you listening to now?

Ok, so apparently they are relaunching in some capacity. The site is blocked at work, but I'm going to check out www.worldfootballdaily.com when I get home.

It's becoming apparent that this was entirely due to the effective advert boycott by the liverpool supporters group. It was egged on by Cohen's behavior as well. This whole thing looks bad for the WSD guys, but what do I care. The show entertains me.

Is Oswaldo Sanchez his idol or something? What a tool, I'm glad the Sounders won after that and all the pregame grandstanding from the two teams.

How did he argue the red card after that?

Wicks is a total nutcase. He has a no ish rep for being the kind of guy to fight teammates in training. Very glad Sounders FC won...good for the league.

If the Chelsea appeal is rejected, I would guess that Lazio would want to pursue United for the Macheda signing.

I agree with your last point about it being entertaining and not caring about the other ish. But its pretty disappointing to hear Cohen use his family's safety for his canceling the show when the real reason was financial constraints. I'm hoping its coming back for the long term regardless.
