My boys make it to the group stage of the Europa league on a penalty shootout.

I'll take it.

Robben to Bayern. Interesting for a lot of reasons. Ribery's future, their squad age and the amount they spent on such an injury plagued dude. Great player when he's healthy though.

By squad age are you saying that Robben is old? I always mistake his age cause he looks to be like 40 but he is actually only 25.

Follow-up: the front office (speaking for the club, the players and the coaches) put out a press message today explicitly thanking the fans for the way they "unconditionally" supported the side before, during and after the game. 8-)

A group of Shakhtar Donetsk, Partizan Belgrade and Toulouse seems pretty tough, and not very attractive either.

Starting to lose your hair at 18 will do that. He has seemed pretty healthy since his move to Real. I hope he is healthy this year leading into SA.

That'll be after the group stages in december: best two from each group (=24) + the third place teams from Champion's League groups (=8)

25? That's hilarious. Still, his health is a worry.

Bayern are going to love him until he plays his 2nd game and his hamstring explodes or his ankle falls off or whatever.

Robben is the Milton Bradley of UEFA

Spurs with a fantastic bit of luck. B'Ham should have won that game.

If Modric is hurt for any length of time that's going to hurt them.

So this one time I said that I didn't think Arshavin was any better than Donovan.

Whoops.

On the other hand it seems I was dead on about United's midfield. They're horrid.

He scored twice today, not a bad debut.

Haha, on a pk and an og no less.

Btw, my preseason wager on Chelsea is looking very good.

As long as Chelsea don't get all dramabomb again, they're going to win the league. Way too much talent and experience over there.

The PK in the United/Arsenal game was marginal, and the OG was stunning. Arsenal dominated every phase of the game, and should have won handily. United's midfield is all workrate and no skill. Their game plan consisted of blasting long balls to Rooney. Carrick and Fletcher aren't a starting midfield on a title contender.

Hull drew at Wolves today-Jozy came on as a sub and didn't do much. Wolves outshot Hull like 23-5.

I was hoping for 10 points in Arsenal's 1st 5 games being they had to go to Everton, United, and City. Arshavin reminds me of mighty mouse. It frustrating not getting a point at Old Trafford when you deserve one. I wonder how much different this game is with a healthy Cesc in the lineup.

Everton with a last minute penalty to get their 1st win and point of the season. Wigan had a 5 on 2 chance to probably win it in the 91st minute and Sinclair took the ball the entire way without looking to pass only to be turned away by Howard. If he is unselfish Wigan win the match.

Standard Lièges Axel Witsel literally broke RSCA's Wasilewski's leg in a tackle. I'll put the GIF in spoilers, as it's pretty gruesome:

I hope he gets suspended for quite some time for this.

And the really ridiculous part is that he actually looked surprised when he got a red card

Tottenham has 12 points after four games (a perfect 4-0).

Last year they had one point after four games, had only two points after eight games and it took them 12 games to get 12 points.
