I only saw highlights of the first half, but they sure had some great chances early.

Highlights don't tell the whole story. Arsenal were awful in the 2nd half and lucky to earn a point. If Wigan had more than one good player on the wing they might have scored.

Peter Nowak is crap. I'm going to watch the games for Freddy and Jozy, but putting Edu on the back line and leaving off Feilhaber is ridiculous. I don't care what his form is like, you get him in form. He is clearly having a garbage year, but this is a kid who has 15 caps, has played in the Champions League and trains with a premiership club. There is no way Eddie Gaven or Dax McCarty are in better form.

Let's just hope 'ole Pete doesn't stick Freddy at left back again.

I don't mind Dax McCarty. he has some utility at least. gaven, on the other hand, is a mess.

They just showed in the pregame that if Liverpool advances that it will be the first time that any one country has had four teams advance to the quarterfinals of the Champions League.

Finally its coming on. I'm curious to how Liverpool will come out playing against Inter. Its probably not in their best interest to sit back and defend. They have more than enough speed to put out a good counter, and an away goal would be crushing.

I agree. Liverpool has some leeway and even if they give up two goals will still be assured of extra time. And with Inter having to come out and score I would assume there are going to be holes in their defense that Liverpool could exploit. It certainly would be in Liverpool's best interest to play their normal game and not try to revert to a defensive style - that's how teams get into trouble. I'm not saying all out attack but you have to push forward if for no other reason than to keep Inter honest.

Not to mention that if Liverpool does get a goal, the tie is all but over because Inter would have to net four to advance.

This thing is Liverpool's to lose and they'll have to do a lot to lose it.

An early Inter goal would be very bad for Liverpool. Already Liverpool are commiting a lot of fouls.

I am happy with 0-0 at the half. Inter has had more chances, but that is to be expected. But Inter has also looked somewhat shaky at the back so hopefully Torres or Babel can get behind them with their pace and get a counterattack goal.

Another weak yellow card against Inter and this one pretty much screws them. There have been a couple fouls on Liverpool that I thought could have been card worthy but nothing was shown. Of course, that being said, the Inter player should have been more careful knowing that he was playing with a yellow card and that Inter couldn't afford to play down a man.

Either way, welcome to the quarterfinals, Liverpool.

And that will do it as Torres puts one in.

Pretty nice last couple of years for English teams in the CL. Last year England had three of the four semifinalists and this year they have four quarterfinalists. Should be interesting when the bracket gets released on Friday for the quarters and semis to see which English teams get matched up (since the odds of none of them facing each other in the quarters is extremely small.
